It's no longer an RPG with shooter elements. It's a shooter with RPG elements. If ever there was a game to complain about being 'dumbed down', Fallout 4 is it. Funny how the usual detractors of such things have chosen to stay oddly silent about FO4.
That's how i see it as well. I watched the gameplay footage and read some pre-launch reviews and wanted to puke. This is not a fallout game; it's a 3d shooter using fallout graphics and lore. Not that i had expected anything else from Bethesda, to be honest.
Seems great to me so far. Maybe not the second coming of christ, but the second coming of Fallout 3 for sure, which to me is good enough .
Funny you said the same about New Vegas all these years ago (you as in general public). Cut it some slack, this game is amazing and looks nice.
Not to mention ... how do all of you have opinion about the game, when it launched just yesterday? I begin to question whether some of you actually played it, or just observed twitch. Being a reviewer and receiving an early copy is one thing, but y'all act as if you've seen the whole damn game .... grow up.

I specified "so far" in my statement. Also no I didn't say the same thing about New Vegas. I hated that game.
Saying this game is a lot like Fallout 3 is a huge compliment in my book. I loved that game and so did many others.
I have about 20 hours in so far, and my only complaints is that my mouse was a bit mushy (found a fix for that online) and that the interface indeed gets a little wonky with the crafting stuff. Not a big deal really, I just chalk it up to being multi-platform.
As a game, I am having a great time, so that = success in my book.
If you come across the flooded quarry where you are tasked with fixing the 3 broken pipes by some guy be warned. The ground is very glitchy and you will step through it and fall into the lake, which is where you need to go but also gives you rads. There is also a chemistry bench in the water there but activating it will freeze your character underwater for a good 30 seconds.
Game is still a blast to play though and I am having fun.
Same here ElRenmazuo, but then it seems our tastes usually match in single player games. Yes and it might depend on your playstyle. I never play Bethesda for the mods or the story. I play for 2 reasons: Exploration in a large world, and stealth play. So I roam over the land trying to see whats around the next bend. And I collect loot off of what I kill and do it trying to maintain a mostly stealth state.

This really is Fallout 3, part 2. What a shame.
Play the game then come back.

Fallout 4 is the best game that has come out this year.
Yes it has bugs but none of them game breaking. If you play beth games you already know what to expect. The game itself is very enjoyable. It feels larger than it actually is but im having a blast at the 6 hr mark.

It's a great game to be fair , but to specifically say it is the best when there are several AAA titles that were released in 2015 ? And you are 6 hours into the game ? I hope you don't cry when the game didn't get its GOTY .
Having opinions is one thing , but there are so many of you not wanting to conform to the general public 's opinions to the point even if the game had something good , your anti-conformist nature in you just want to be that deviant and say it isn't good . Some of you didn't even play it . That is what's going on with the MMORPG forum thesedays.
Like it or not , the majority of the public are in love with the game. Though I suspect it will likely not able to snatch the 2015 GOTY from a certain W game due to the ridiculous amount of glitches and bugs in the game . Most of them aren't gamebreaking but they are definitely distracting enough to be bothered by it.
Knowing Bethesda they most likely won't be able to fix them in short time either

To say that 'many' people are just not wanting to conform to what the public likes as to why they do not like Fallout 4 is absurd. Some maybe but many? I seriously doubt that. Besides, if you did not like FO3 or FONV you most likely will not like this game either.
I don't think many of us are complaining that Fallout 4 is a bad game, quite the opposite. The expectations were very high, yet Bethesda didn't fully deliver. Fallout 4 just didn't make huge improvements over Fallout 3 which released in 2008, whole 7 years ago! The game basically feels and plays like a slightly improved version of Fallout 3, but that's it. It doesn't feel like it's a new game.
I'm sure a lot of people are enjoying it. There are also many that hate it. I mean I loved both Fallout 3 and New Vegas even though they were far from perfect, I love Bethesda, but I'm not blind, Fallout 4 doesn't deserve this hype. It will probably end selling more than 15mil copies anyway, only because it's "Bethesda".
If you check Steam though, you'll see that Fallout 4 reviews are barely at 78%, and still falling down. I mean ESO is at 77% and it got half the negative reviews on day 1. And I don't think I've seen a lot more hated games than ESO in it's first month.
