Here is what I think of Fallout 4,
First let me say, I didn't get very far. It seems I hit a bug that stopped me dead in my tracks early on in the story mission, and have a refund pending with steam.
Anyway. This is how it played out.
You start out nice, Lots of work went into the beginning. Your at home with your wife and baby when you get a knock at the door from a salesman that will give you a spot in a fallout shelter. Shortly after the nukes start falling and your family runs to the shelter. When inside you are put into an individual locked chamber. Looking out the window you can see your wife being murdered and baby taken, just before you fall asleep. Shortly after you awake and released you find everyone is dead and your all alone. You escape from the vault and make your way top side.
From here is where you have freedom to do anything, but it leads you to find your old town, loot all the houses and on to the Auto Shop, where you meet your dog companion, find several crafting stations and move on. You then get a quest to find a small town called Concord. When you arrive, you have to enter a building and fight your way to the top where you meet Preston Garvy to get a quest to get your Power Armor and have to clear Concord of hostiles.
Outside, you meet your first boss Death Claw, kill him and all other hostiles and turn in you quest. This is where the game stopped for me. Couldn't turn it in !.......Searched everyplace for more bad guys for hours. I learned crafting, ventured out to kill and loot around the outskirts, but no advancement in the main story line. I Youtubed the hell out of this quest, and asked for help in steam forums. All I got was " your game must be bugged ".
Now:
I asked myself. Should I simply start over ?......Is Fallout 4 worth it ?......I would say no !
Obviously, I barely played. No major exploring, haven't tried Building anything, only two boss fights ( one in an underground sewer ).
But, I realize Fallout 4 is just another run of the mill Zombie game, in a dull drab world. The landscape will always be the same, and yes the graphics on ultra were poor. I don't normally care about graphics, but something kept pissing me off. You character seemed too big for being inside. Monsters and bad guys seem to be ugly and not fit just right into the environment. Just too cartoon like. Most building are locked too.
Fallout 4 seems to be a crafting game, so you better like crafting. Loot, my god !.......This is the core of the game. You'll be looting constantly, picking up everything, being obsessed with not missing anything.....kind of like spilling your large popcorn at the movies and being told you have to pick up every one.
Fallout 4 for as little as I played is very disappointing. It's like something you would play five years ago. After playing The Witcher 3 or Metal Gear Solid 5, This is a step back in time..........Refund pending, I hope !
Also see Steam forums. Putting aside unable to play complaints and computer issues, many are experiencing bugs, complications, and just dull game play !
Major reviews from IGN or Gamestop are saying good, but several fan reviews are telling the real story !

Request for refund rejected,
Played beyond 2 hours for a refund, I played 8
I guess I'm stuck with it, I'll have to give it another try.
Fallout 4 is easily GOTY for me. And yes, I played both Witcher 3 and MGS5.
The bug was very early on. I played several hours around the bug. I'll start over.
maybe I'll start liking it
It's nicely done and i can relate to the story, but to me it just feels more of the same.
I had trouble sticking with Falllout 3, New Vegas as well as Skyrim, but I've kept my focus, finished those games and was satisfied in the end.
But, I think Fallout 4 might be the tipping point. I mean, how many Bethesda's open world games can we play until we say: Enough, I'm done?
It's easy to forget the skill, time and effort that goes into making a game - if we stop to imagine, it can be shocking because we are starting to take things for granted. The game is decent, not awesome, but worth playing now that you have paid for it. Not sure if you can remember the ZX Spectrum 48, but if not, just go and google some screenshots and it might cheer you up
I am on the fence now. Since i have so many games i have not finished, i probably will wait a while .. for at until the bugs are fixed. There is no hurry. I probably will play it eventually.
Talking about new games, anyone tried the new Tomb Raider game yet?
