Did they fail to grease the palms of MMORPG employees? Or is it because they are a indie game? I've seen them advertised here before, but I guess when payments stop, so does their mention. It was at top spot in steam greenlight, so thought it would be mention worthy of a site that claims to be about MMOs
Current games playing: MechWarrior Online Games being watched: Project Genom Favorite played games: SWG, RomaVictor, and Xsyon
Last time I saw a Divergance article Bill was fairly mercilessly attacked for promoting it. I'm not sure why but there are a lot of people around here with a vendetta against that game.
That said I rarely visit steam, I guess it's fairing better there.
Not sure why folks disliked it so much, it isn't any worse off than some of the other games still in alpha? I guess all the folks who said add non-pvp server and we'll donate, were just talking poop. Not many, if any donated after they said they'd add one. Just wondered why a game that shows promise to be the next SWG Pre-NGE isn't even included. Guess all the orig SWG fans moved on. Anyway, no biggie I guess, I barely come here anymore, its becoming irrelevant here, as info is just paid advertisements now days.

Huh? It is not even close to a SWG design. This is a straight pvp game that will never amount to much at all because pvpers for some reason don't support these games. I might give it a look when it is released, but it has a long way to go at the moment.
1 This site promotes every game,so hardly seems like unbiased articles. 2 Steam accepts pretty much anything and everything now a days,so hardly worth noting. 3 Divergence is by a VERY small team, like maybe 1-3 people, possibly a couple more freelancers or similar but definitely not a game that has a plausible chance of becoming a Triple A game.
I have checked it out a few times, imo the main guy has put in some pretty good effort, far more than say what Roberts did pitching his game and he got 90 million dollars worth of support for doing literally nothing except sell ships and promises.IMO if this guy got the exact same support as Roberts did,he likely could produce a better well rounded game with a lot more content and ideas than just ships/space and a single player mini game.
Will this game be worth it or anything special,i do not think so,however it might be playable/good enough for some.
I will note that every time i think of impossibilities,i think back to Carmack,he pretty much made Quake himself, although this guy is no Carmack, some good things can come from small teams.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I believe that this developers previous game had legal issues, and had to be pulled. It looks like they are being more cautious with this one.

That's because PVPers want PVP (and good PVP.)
So-called "PVP MMORPGs" aren't really about PVP most of the time (you spend far more time out of PVP than in it.)
They also have bad PVP (decided by non-skill factors like population and progression.)
If you want to attract PVPers, you make a game about PVP, which has good PVP. (ie you don't make an MMORPG.)

Yeh .. there are plenty of good pvp games ... just look at MOBAs, online shooters, and all the e-sports games.

Neutral? One look at his post history tells anyone with half a brain that he's a shill. Like his entry in this thread.

My game is nowhere near ready to be listed anywhere, I'm just wondering.
if I recall correctly the game was listed here and the forum was deleted.
@khanstruct see the rules for listing.
If you are interested in making a MMO maybe visit my page to get a free open source engine.
@ some point he got a new programmer i believe.. tbh i think the dude is alone.
Not to manyupdates..
The idea is great i think.. but i think this game is getting nowhere

Thanks for keeping the offense going though. We need more of it.

You don't need a MMORPG to have pvp.
