One has to ask themselves one simple question:

Was Windows not working prior to the patch?

If you answered 'no' then... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Just because they push a patch today doesn't mean one must install it today.  In fact, if you wait, you will undoubtedly get a patch to fix said patch... which means this... nobody should be installing any of this stuff for at least a week or two past release.
Yeah, some things were rather broken before the patch.  It may have fixed the taskbar locking up issue, though it might also be that I just haven't spent enough time with it.

I tried reverting to before the 1511 patch.  It's basically a service pack, even if Microsoft didn't officially call it that.  That did get Elsword to run rather than rebooting the computer, but some other things were still broken.  So I decided to just nuke the whole thing and start over.

I'd been having way too many stability problems with this computer:  it crashes more in an average week than my previous one did in an average year.  It's possible that something got messed up early on when my memory settings weren't entirely stable.

I'm not sure that the Windows 10 reset did as clean of a reinstall as I intended.  With the first install, it wasn't able to find an ethernet driver, though this time, it did--though it could plausibly have found them on the USB drive I had plugged in.  And it also managed to install AMD video drivers on its own, though it's plausible that it could have done that after it was able to get online.

I do now have the Logitech Gaming Software running on the new 1511 patch.  Now I just need to reinstall everything else.
Maybe it's hardware related. If you want you could post your system specs and the people here could give you some tips on improving it...

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I run windows 10, all my peripherals are Razer, Nvidia video card.  Everything is working perfectly, no issues at all.

You get what you pay for I guess.

I've had no issues with Win 10 after upgrading from 7.  I was hesitant about even getting the free upgrade and put it off for a couple weeks.  Once I finally decided to update, it's been smooth sailing.  Everything has been kept up to date and have not had an issue with drivers or programs.  Personally, I like 10 alot and really enjoy the start menu tile/app system.

Just installed the new build and it took a long time with no issues at all. Running great but I will in near future put this new build on my USB and do a fresh install.

No issues here.  However, not surprised that some people have had them.  With so many different configurations, components, etc, it's not unusual.

Let's see here.  Logitech Gaming Software won't run.  At all.  Trying to launch Elsword reboots the computer.  I've tried several times, with the same results every time.  Trove does load, then crashes within seconds.  Even LibreOffice is unable to load files, so it's presumably not a GPU problem.

But hey, Microsoft added their priority stuff.  Now you get desktop ads for Office.  The search bar that used to search for files on your computer now opens a browser and does a random Bing search.  So does trying to launch a troubleshooter in Control Panel.

It's getting late tonight, but tomorrow, I'll probably try to revert to an earlier build.  I sure hope this doesn't turn into having to reformat and reinstall everything.
I have Logitech mouse software and have had no issue with win10. Mine runs smooth with no issues with gaming... maybe you have a bad install or conflicts with other software/drivers.

This is not my opinion, this is fact.  Windows 10 is nothing more than a platform for Bing.  MS believes their search engine has more long term value than their O/S.

As to the searching online... easy enough to turn off. Open search, hit the gear button and toggle "Search Online and include web results" off. I also turned off Cortana ages go.

It's funny how the user experience of even extremely knowledgeable power users varies. Other than some very peculiar installation problems when I first upgraded (had to end-up physically disconnecting my DVD drive to get the installation to complete) I have zero complaints. Best Windows experience for me in 25 years of using it.

Upgraded from win8.1 pro  to win 10 pro from day 1 it was offered then did a clean install of win 10 pro with the iso i got from it. Never got a issue during or after. I guess you are just unlucky. I also think some hardware or software could be the issue. Hard to tell without knowing the habit of people and the specs of there computer.

Just to note also i got a naga mouse and never had any issue, i don't install there software also since i did at first on win8.1 and found it more troublesome then anything so when i first upgraded to win 10 it did ask to redo the install during setup of win10 and i decided to push skip, best decision of my life by the way.

My Windows 10 update went ok. Only thing I didn't like was after the update I logged in and Windows gave me a notification saying it uninstalled Speccy because it found it incompatible. I would have preferred Win 10 to just give me the notification but let me choose to unistall the program. Other than that, no problems.

I've been running Win 10 core install for months now with no problems.
