Wait a sec, are you telling me that a video game requiring millions of lines of code has bugs... and on launch day? Get right out of town!

Every game has bugs, but are you saying that the last two releases of Assasins Creed were acceptable? That the release of the last Batman Arkam series (PC) was acceptable? Fallout 4 has some serious bugs that are downright gamebreaking! Last night I played it for first time and within 1 minute after char creation, when that guy came on the door (where you set your stats and name) my screen went black and all sound disappeared, basically freezing on my char portrait. I had to go to PS4 dashboard and kill the game and restart from scratch. This happened twice and on third try I finally got through. Wasting almost an hour to just to get through the first part! After that I quit the game and give up for now and wait till they release the first major patch! Absolutely disgusting first impression! /facepalm

I dont enjoy fallout in the slightest.. but that said the fallout / elderscrolls series are possibly the biggest singleplayer games we get, if theres any games I'd allow to get away with bugs it'd be them.

that said, yeah, they should really get on that, I'm sure they could've done a way better job, the state of games in general is pretty pathetic.

Loving the game with 48 hours played since I got it last friday, I had a major glitch that's unfixable though.  The Savage Deathclaw put me in a death animation, yet somehow I got free im guessing my companion hit it and saved me.  Afterwards my left arm was broken and a stimpack wouldn't heal it so I thought there would for sure be some work around for it.  After reading around online I attempted multiple doctor dialogues to fix it, and throwing grenades and molotovs at my arm to break it and fix it.  None of these things worked and ultimately I lost 45 minutes of game time since I had to roll back to before I killed the ridiculously strong Deathclaw and needless to say it took a few tries considering it can one shot me, but finally got it done.  That's the only major bug I've had an issue with.

I've gotten used to bugs in the Fallout universe. That said I've noticed few in the two days I've played. Of that only two have been notable. I got a black screen when I started the game once. I verified the files and it worked.

The other bug isn't only seen in Fallout though. I lined up a sniper shot and hit my target at the very top of the head. This sent their body flying for about forty feet. Every time I see something like that it's a laugh.

That and I appear to have picked a name that isn't in the 1,000 name long list, Gus.

What would be nice is if MMORPG.com wouldn't make two News & Features threads with the same title and the same links.

Its a Beth game, a mediocre buggy mess on launch, fixed after about a year of patches and made into a great game by the modders. Dont we all know this is how Beth works by now?

Guess my comment got deleted or the mobile version of MMORPG.com is messed up but I really get annoyed with players when it comes to Bethesda titles because they are absolutely 100% apologists when it comes to their games. "Oh that's Bethesda for you!" Or, "what do you expect from a huge open world RPG," which totally discounts the fact that other, even bigger open world RPGs like the Witcher 3 had no such issues. A lot of gamers seem unable to come to terms with a very simple fact that I've noticed with each new released game from Bethesda: Bethesda is a lazy development studio that only grows more lazier with each new title they release. They seem very content with milking their most well-known IPs without bringing improvements to the table. It really all comes down to the players though-it's absolutely their fault for making excuses for Bethesda and accepting mediocrity.

It isn't like they didn't make enough money or sell enough pre-orders to afford some good QC/testing teams.

Not really much excuse for this for a major franchise title from a big company.

But customers just seem to accept this kind of BS, same story with TW:Rome2 a bit ago from CA/Sega... big titles from companies with plenty of money, and a ton of bugs right out of the gate.

They sold only what....22-23m of skyrim.

BUT....FO4 got announced and released pretty fast. Kinda iffy. REALLY could have waited few more months and polish the game, what was the rush really?

Just like with other Zenimax games ;P wait for "legendary" edition. All DLCs, patched and fixed and plenty of mods to choose from by then.

As much as I love The Witcher games, TW3 had some fucking issues, poor optimizations, poor QoL in the menu systems. They had to add in an alternative movement mode because it was HORRENDOUS on MB/K.

So yeah...TW3 was not flawless on launch. No game ever was, or ever will be.

    @SBFord ;

Anyway you can merge this thread into the other identical one that you started 20 minutes before this one? :)
Dupe threads about articles seem to be happening a lot since the new forums went live

As much as I'd like a completely bug free experience something almost always slips through and will need to be patched. This can be frustrating especially for die hard fans who run out & find these glitches first hand. People with limited or no broadband will continue to pass up new releases like FO4 for more stable versions of titles that will hopefully have a GOTY later on. Another problem of course is if you see a sweet collectors edition (which are getting more expensive & difficult to obtain) sell out quickly and you pre-order it only to run into the above issues. Waves of happy and sad tend to ensue. The bottom line is if you love your game be patient and things will work out in time but the days of zero bugs on release day are mostly in the past.

I haven't had a major bug yet. About 24 hours in.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

Yes but it was nowhere near as bad as a Bethesda title, plus CD Projekt Red actually tried to fix all issues as fast as possible instead of leaning on a mod community (that could be working on mods that actually add new content to the game) to fix their vanilla version like Bethesda repeatedly has done.

Even if they spent another month cleaning it up, in time to get out before Xmas, that would have been a good start.

I don't understand the need to rush it out the door when money was obviously not the issue....

There are bugs, and there are serious wtf bugs that any QA division could've found and probably did but bethesda shipped anyways because they're shit. But its not bugs that make this game shit, its everything else.
