A game is assuredly a success when it makes Fortune magazine. In an article posted the other day, it was revealed that Bethesda and the Fallout 4 team raked in $750M in day one sales. That translates to 12M copies sold in the first 24-hours.

...and I'm comfortable with that.

90+% is just wandering around looking for loot and usually ending up with more useless loot than you need.
Guns for the most part are just simple boring guns.I would want cool stuff like the Unreal shock Rifle kind of stuff with cool combo attacks.Yeah i know my liking is more sci fi oriented but i just can't fathom any fun out of shooting a pistol or semi automatic sniper rifle.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

And there are some gut-wrenching twists in the plot and some really quirky, offbeat things that you run into. I think it's a blast, frankly, and the character customization is very well done. The difference is that these things become obvious as the game progresses; they don't happen out of the gate.
Hodor!
Fallout 4 is that mix of Skyrim and Planet Explorers that I've been looking for. Never really thought of it as a shooter.

There is also the difference between the player experience of the game, whether they are playing on Console, or on PC, the game does have issues after all, but hopefully this is the last time that Bethesda uses their ageing game engine, surely they can afford to create a new more capable engine now, hopefully one where the physics are not affected by the games framerate, which is not just old, its prehistoric.
Some cool mods have already been released too. Like the one that allows you to combine more armor parts and the one that returns the classic dialogue (find them on nexus). But the bigger better projects will only get started when the CK is released.

I learned long ago (Oblivion), not to buy Bethesda games at launch. I wait til the modders have had time to fix them up. But no longer a big fan. They can't even release with decent UI choices....
I do wonder if they are getting the same 80/20 console/PC split that they got on Skyrim.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
Sales for respective platform would be interesting to see. I do expect a larger quantity of sales on the console versions though like yourself.
