Slaughterwolfs... and they love their wolfs and slaughter....

That my friends is creative writing at it´s finest....

Sounds a lot like something i used to come up with back in school for our rpg campaigns.

This have been a good conversation

Sounds to me like a pet class similar to for example EQ2 Necromancer or something like that. The pets would of course be the risen dead or calling upon nature to fight for them, example crows or wolves.
Not really a very unique idea but it will be ok and many players will like playing the pet classes.

I would be more interested to see if there is any depth within this design beyond just simply casting a flock of crows spell or using a dead corpse to fight for you.

I remember MJ doing the same thing with Warhammer , everyweek promoting , great sounding classes and features , many classes/features never made it to live game , an when a couple did after 2 years of waiting , they were a mess, And this was with EA backing him .. I just dont forsee all these classes/features making it to game .. From a funded project with much less financial freedom to develop ..

Wow, wonder why the veil classes happen to be left for last.

I luv pet classes and mage types can't wait to see more but of course the real test will be when we see actual play videos.

I agree Scorch. With the amount of classes/skills they've gotta create ... i just don't see this many making it. While all those classes are nice...it seems like complete overkill. Even a content team like Blizz can't put out classes like that, what makes me think a small dev team like this can.

I'm still excited about CU but IMO even without PvE in the game, i believe that them having to build their own engine really set them back a bit. They've gotta be at the very least 6 months away from anything that even resembles a actual game.

Love the dev team though i just think that MJ is letting things get a bit too crazy with the classes/races list.

@bcbully All beta 1 backers have access to C.U.B.E. and part of alpha test sessions, but beta 1 should start Jan-March 2016 ("this winter").

Actually it was more like MJ doing this with EA constantly prodding him in the arse with a red hot poker and telling him "NO you can't do this game YOUR way, we hold the purse strings so you'll listen to us and do what WE tell you, even though WE know FUCK ALL about MMORPG development. No you can't use three factions because that's not like WoW. We don't care if its not ready, launch the fucking game NIOW or you're all fired!!"
Exactly preaty like what MisterZebub said.

Anyone who thinks three factions will balance an MMO population in a RvR game does not know MMORPG development or MMORPG history or MMORPG players.

As for EA controlling the purse strings: MJ is an 'ideas man'.  I like a lot of his ideas... I like a lot of ideas from a lot of people.  But the reality is that those ideas cost money (and time) to become a reality.  Many ideas don't work as imagined either.
So, somewhere along the line you need someone to reign in the ideas man with a bit of realism.
If you don't have that - you get what appears to be happening with Chris Roberts and Star Citizen.  Endless project creep and a delivery date that is getting further away rather than closer.
I'm not saying EA was right (I hate half baked game releases as much as anyone) but MJ wasn't right either.  Given another 12 months of development WAR could have been better - then again given another 12 months how many more 'planned features' would have been promised and diverted developer resources?

Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.

Yes!! She is my favorite Celtic/Pagan Goddess. Loving the look of this game, Celtic lore is the best!

I didn't even know this Mark Jacobs guy but now i am really not expecting much.

I see where this following is coming from DAOC and Warhammer, both games imo not very good at all.

Seems people liked DAOC for pvp,i can't stand pvp in a rpg and Warhammer was just more the same.Warhammer was so bad i felt like logging out  in the first 10 minutes.Only thing i found good  about Warhammer was the sound effects.

So having seen this guys direction for game development,it is very shallow to aim for pvp and not something i could be interested in.

This is BS cause 2 years later they still couldnt deliver on those features an classes , 2 years after launch and still they failed with EA backing them ..
2 years later it was still a broken game , borken classes broken crafting , broken sieges ..
so all the prodding in the world for nearly 6 total years .. and he still failed ....

EA was pretty generous tbo , and gave him plenty of time ..

                                                                                 plenty of oppurtunity

                                                                                           plenty of support team

                                                                                                 plenty of money

                        He delivered plenty of mess...
