I just completed a majority of the NPC quests on the space station. Does the game open up a lot if you subscribe? I thought Boba Fett was waiting until my character got stronger to go into the full game. I am interested in seeing what its like. Space ship flying is somewhat annoying because my video gets choppy around the electrical cloud storms and when my character comes to a door.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

This game is NOT worth subscribing to. Please read all the posts here and on the Game play Discussion forum here:

Please do your research before spending your money.
BTW ... the real game is nothing like the spacestation aside from the fact that everything is quest based. There is no getting out onto the planets and killing creatures or NPCs and expecting any real amount of xp or even average loot. Most servers are next to empty since 200K accounts canceled. Even Bria which was still listed as Heavy after the NGE hit is now at medium during primetime (or at least it was last night).

You should do enough missions on Tansarii station to reach level 12 or 13 before you leave the station.
Once you leave the station, you land in Mos Eisely. Han Solo will direct you to either talk to an NPC named Vourk outside of the star port or he will set you on a short series of tasks which will give you a vehicle and a vehicle customization kit.
The quests that begin with Vourk are the Legacy quests. They take you to Points Of Interest all over Tatooine and then on to Naboo. This set of quests is designed to take you to Level 30 as a character. There is no other way in the game for new players to gain experience besides doing these quests. You can try killing creatures and NPCs but you will get little experience doing that.
Although the storyline continues the Old Republic "relic" idea from the station, you basically go from one area to another and either kill a certain number of NPCs or creatures, or "find" objects in aggro ridden areas, then move on to the next part.
When you complete these quests, you will have a very difficult time progressing because there are no intermediate level quests. If you are given the Rage of the Wookiees expansion with your purchased version of the game, you should be at least a level 50 before attempting the kashyyyk quests. There are however two sets of quests on Kashyyyk people are using to "grind xp":
1. Task Force Bravo. Talk to Colonel Gurnst on the second level of the great tree in Kachiro. Repeatable kill the wookiees quest, wookiees levels 27-30. There are almost always "grind groups" available. 5k credits reward.
2. Quelling the varactyl. Talk to Ortha Ledox 554 -654 (Rodian) Kill 8 varactyls. 8k credits reward.
Outside of the Kashyyyk repeatable quests space xp gives you ground xp. I see you say you have graphics problems with space, so good luck!
The space stations are just the tutorial section of SWG. Technically the game opens up a lot once you subscribe and can transport down to the planets. There are a lot of worlds to visit and see out there if you are interested. Space is also quite vast, encompassing decent sized sectors of space around nearly every planet including 2 sectors in the depths of space.
If you change some of your graphics options down some, you should be able to eliminate the door lag and the space nebula lag. In fact there is an option in graphics to specifically reduce the effects of space nebula cloud density I think it is called.
With all that said, I am not going to go beyond the questions you ask because there will be a flood of people coming into your thread telling you not to play SWG. My recommendation is that if you like what you have seen so far, and enjoy the gameplay, you subscribe and see for yourself what is out there. Be forewarned that this particular forum is very anti-SOE and anti-SWG and you should take their advice with a grain of salt if you actually enjoy the game. For the record, I was a long time player of SWG but no longer play for a variety of reasons.
The game is a total washout, save your time and cash as the company that runs this game are nothing but a backstabbing bunch who don't care about the people who play.
Search around here in these threads and you'll see what they just did to the Japanese players.
Even SOE's puppets in these forums can't deny the truth that the game is nothing like it once was. It's a watered down version with no real content.
You yourself said their are problems so multiply that by about a thousand and thats what you'll get inside the game. The game is no more SWG then the sky is green.
By the way, its not true thses forums are anti-SWG or anti-SOE. Whats we are, are ex-players who tell the truth about the game but some of its current puppets see it differently.
Search before sunscribing and hopefully you'll see the real truth behind all the facade put their by SOE.
Looks like from what Kayleigh says they took a more linear approach. Like an online single player game.
