Well deserved for both game and developer. Can't wait to see more about Cyberpunk 2077

Edit to add the Cyberpunk video for those of you who don't yet know that CDPR is all done with the Witcher and their next big thing is a game based on the Cyberpunk P&P RPG. Awesome teaser video too:

Hmm, W3 felt pretty limiting I'm not sure it deserved a GOTY. It is a great game no doubt there but I guess I'm kinda annoyed by games without character creator these days. Sure some say that this way the story can be more engaging which is okay reason i guess. But then you have games like dragon age and mass effect that do it perfectly fine. I would much rather see a developer being rewarded for making such a game, as they tend to have better longevity and replayability

With that being said, applause to CDPR. Good job. Loved the packaging of the game and the amount of love you folks put into the game. Certainly deserved developer of the year award on 200%. They are the best BY FAR.

And I'm kinda happy that early releases like call of duty and assassin's creed have no representation on these lists ^_^

Well deserved, but man the Game Awards show was just awful. 10 World Premieres and nothing was memorable about any of them. But anyway...I was rooting for Fallout 4 for game of the year but I figured Witcher 3 would win, it's had longer to be in the public view as well as had an expansion.

and better gameplay, less bugs, better story tell, and it just felt right.

I know most guys have a strange thing for bethesda but serious, in essence bethesda just toss things around and hope for the mod comunity to fix it

Fallout 4 is cool, but I agree that W3 deserves the GotY title - which is odd, I rarely agree with awards... in this case for example, I wouldn't even poke with a pole at least 80% of the nominees

An another agree, Her Story for Narrative. Good pick. (though Life is Strange was a good contestant too in this bracket)

As much as i like bethesda's games, they kinda remind me of Linux. Don't put out patch for months and expect community to make patch for them.

I think it's a good choice although I own the Witcher 3 and have only played it for a few hours. Just hadn't had the time to actually play it yet. What I did play though was amazing.

Except Linux is free, and it's working in the first place  so there's only "convenience" upgrades. Bethesda is giving you a half-baked product for full price (and not for free), thus the community is somewhat "forced" to fix it if they want a fully working product.
Don't get me wrong, I love both ES (except ESO ofc) and the Fallout series - true, I prefer the pre-Bethesda ones more

I actually like Fallout 4 despite so many hating it . It definitely is a good game but Witcher 3 is in a totally different league . Their developers were way more passionate about making a game .

Bethesda just feels lazy and probably will leave the gazillion of bugs fixing to their fanbois modders , it has been a whole month and numerous of gamebreaking bugs are still not fixed , even in the beta patch . With them making so much more money , You do expect them to be a little more concerned about their players, the sad truth is they don't .

FO4 Good game but no GOTY , Todd Howard doesn't deserve the DOTY either , numerous of the things he promised in E3 were just MYTH that tried to get ppl on the hype train

Once again, this has nothing to do with mmos so this should not be on this website.

pretty much deserved. I dont really think threr was another contender up there.

The only way F4 could compete is if you count in modding, but without modding....nope.

Now, with that said....game on level of W3...with modding....that would be something ;P

Was an amazing game made by an amazing developer. No surprise here no matter how many times my friends disagreed.

Once again it's a RPG and we do RPGs... that ship has sailed. Also this is a well deserved GOTY.

    Very well deserved.

How I would love to see CDproject and Monolith make a game together. What a game that could be

Not my pick for GOTY but it doesn't matter. It's a great game nevertheless and it deserves it. Kudos to CDPR

Nah, CD Projekt Red deserves it waaaay more than Bethesda. CD Projekt Red actually give a damn about their games and community, Bethesda just phones it in and copy/pastes their crap now. CD Projekt Red is literally the only big development studio out there now that isn't made up of nasty, greedy corporate bloodsuckers.

1000% Agreed they deserve this, the GOTY and the DOTY. After they came out and flat out said DRM is pointless, I gained a ton of respect for these people. Not to mention that Witcher 3, at launch, was absolutely great. Add in all the free DLC they've released and the amazing paid DLC, plus the one coming soon, easily GOTY. And they're the people behind GOG. Which wins them huge brownie points with me. My number one digital retailer of games now that their library has really expanded and more newer titles are getting on board.

Pillars of Eternity is my personal rpg "OTY".

However, as a game in whole TW3 deserved the title.

Definitely well deserved notwithstanding the headaches I got from being in that witcher mode. I love the game I just need to finish it and brave the headaches.
