Do you know for a fact that the footage is not from an internal high end test system?
I know for a fact that Alpha 2.0 looks better on my own rig than in this trailer.
And that there are plenty of even better looking, less jerky player made videos about this on YouTube. A nice one has been posted above by another poster.
Every video I saw before this one, ships broke up as they were destroyed. This video shows the ship vanishing and becoming a puff of blue smoke. Looked weird I gotta say.

yeah I think they caught the connie right as it was jumping away and it caused just the explosion to play without any debris
119 second video with about 100 seconds of actual video and maybe 50 seconds of gameplay and 50 seconds of cut scenes.
Nice try though I guess.
People can watch the streams and see what its all about and from those right now it isnt about much of anything, but shaky cameras, crashes and bugs. Obviously to be expected from a 'early early' alpha stage but the smoke blowing is getting crazy.
Like I said a few weeks ago its all damage control. But at least they released SOMETHING, it isnt much but its better than what was around before.
I decided to watch. Guy walked out the space station and there was this amazing looking ship. He boarded the ship and there was this entire awesome looking interior. He walked up to the captain's seat, sat down, and began the launch. BOOOM the ship explodes and he dies from unknown reasons...
It always blows my mind how much people expect from a game in very early ALPHA phase. In case some folks don't get it, early alpha testing is always going to be laggy, it's going to be prone to instability (crashes, etc), will always have less than optimized graphics and it will always be full of bugs.
That's why the devs make the game available to us in these early, early stages... so we can play the hell out of it to help them find all those bugs and give our feedback on gameplay/game mechanics. It really is mind blowing how so many peeps expect so much from something that is so far from finished.
Anyone who plays an alpha release game and expects anything other than a buggy, laggy and unstable mess, has rather unrealistic expectations and will be disappointed every time.

So ... footage like this can be had not only from an internal high end test system. The background of this trailer is explained here: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/301498

All "early access" means these days is "development is continuing... but until then ....send us your money."
A few games are doing that sort of thing.
Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.

That's it? Reminds me of an Eve gankfest with better graphics.
"ALIGN ! ALIGN !"
"WARP ! WARP !"
"I'm on grid !"
I guess many HOPE for an EVE experience with better graphics ;-)
