What's the type of combat?

ExpatriateExpatriate Member Posts: 202

Trying to find out what the combat type is before I bother trying it.

Is it first-person type with camera view from behind the character like RYL or is it click-and-watch combat like Guild Wars and most of the others?

Ok, so ive heard three things about this game, all conected to combat, so i might as well ask whats true and not, and how true it isimage

First, ive heard the combat is turnbased. Now, i can understand a singleplayer game being turnbased, but when it comes to largescale pvp... i simply cant get a grip of it. Could someone explain the basic combat functions?

Second, everywhere i look i se "speedclickpotions", so i wonder if most of the combats, especialy pvp, involves a massive potionfeast. Doesnt sound all that attractive to me, more like "most pots wins"

Third thing would be the grinding feast. Ive got nothing against some grinding to reach my lvls, but is there any nonpvp stuff besides grinding to do? instances, pve "raid" events or something?

    HELLLS NO

This is a potion based game. but ONE on ONE is not what the game is about. its about race vs race. and whey they have a war its not about killing each other . The point is to destroy what they call the chip on each races turf for control of the mine and BOKU BUCKS 3 times a day.

There are plenty of safe areas and small quests to do. BUT i do wish there were more quest.. for what i hear they are suppose to be implementing more..

    1. its definitely not turnbased

    2. its only a potionbased game if a) u solo ur way thru it all, and b) ur gimped... It's all to do with team tactics

    3. U can powerlvl thru the game if u want, but it will result in point b) in above statement. Grinding is for those ppl who wanna actually get their chars to be of some use in their race/guild. Its not a case of lvling fast its a case of keeping ur PTs high, again part of the subtle tactics of the game implemented by hours of patience.

3a There are neutral areas where u get a few beginners quests, but after lvl 25 u'll find that most if not all the quests are based in PvP zones (did I say tactics before?). There are also Pitbosses dotted around the various maps for u and ur team/guild mates to try ur hand at, which drop some nice unique items, and there will be added features in the future that will involve some sort of instancing as well as GvG battles

Its like htis you attk you then engage into taking turns attking ploting your skills to kill off your enemy till he falls and you see the monster for a few mere seconds taken down by your blade it relly is a quite fun combat system

Melee and ranged combat are both auto attack with special styles activated by the player. Magic requires to click each spell you wish to cast. The only thing I dislike about the combat in general is that the computer controls your movement and if you move yourself then you come out of combat mode. And sometimes it is difficult to break off an attack. Otherwise it is pretty standard combat. Nothing too special, but not click and forget either.

Potions are a pain in the butt. They get to be expensive, and they annoy the hell out of me. On the other hand, there is no more "group looking for healer" spam in chat. You are your own healer. You control all three of your own bars with your own potions. It also makes small scale PvP mostly pointless. The only way you will kill someone quickly is to be much higher than they are, or to catch them snoozing. And personally I prefer large scale PvP to small scale anyway.

that;s almost the same as my thought except the point catching them snoozing if you pay attention to your radar u should always seethe enemy. ( well not the stealthed rangers ofcourse ) and it also requires allot of luck hoping ur oponent is lower lvl or ur in an team

    ( large scale ftw )
