Looks neat. I have zero faith in videogame based movies though. Will need to be proven wrong!
Even the first Mortal Kombat and Silent Hill movie?
Man I loved the MK movie lol but Mr Mike makes a good point since we were blessed with Hitman the movie earlier this year....
Its true that majority of video game movies have been bad as far as I can remember. But I look at it this way, for a long time super hero movies and TV shows have been very bad especially in the 90s (except Blade) but they came around eventually thanks to the advancement of special effects and movie crew staff like directors and such having more passion and understanding of comic books. Sure theres one or two average ones in the bunch but most of the recent marvel and DC movies have been very good. So I think this is the beginning of good video game movies in the same sense, especially since many actors now are gamers them selves on the side.
I thought the Doom movie was awesome, so I have hope for the new Assassins Creed movie.
As for comic book movies, yeh, vastly improved since 80s / 90s, probably due in large part to the current generation of filmmakers growing up with comic books themselves, rather than looking down on them. I do think all the marvel films are too cheesy though, I can enjoy them the first time round but repeat viewing is a bad idea.

Doom had its moments but the movie should have been burned to the ground and all traces erased that it was ever conceived for that horrible first person sequence near the end
