I have experienced the stutter when entering taverns, but that's about all. I'm not really sure what to correlated the stuttering to, because the claims I've heard so far, don't make much sense, IMO. Take the claim that it stutters each time an object is loaded. Everytime someone enters the tavern, a new object would be loaded, yet I experience no stutter then, it's only on initial entry. But then again, I'm not running Barracuda drives, but I do have my 2 SATA drives in RAID0 configuration, so that might be helping me.
I have this game loaded onto 3 different computers...1 of which is build with 4 year old components from all my past computers and only has 256 MB ram and an old AMD t-bird processor giving 1.2 GHZ and I have zero problems with this stuttering with the exception of the 3 seconds when I enter taverns. I can live with a 3 second lag when I enter taverns for a bit till they fix it. I remember the lag in WoW was 10 times worse when it launched, so I am happy this is at least playable.

First time i see someone call the AC2 engine high end. Its as crappy as a gfx engine can get i terms of stability.
That's right. And they made that choice for a reason.
I'll take low poly with a nice style if it means stability anyday.
