Been playing Elite Dangerous today and i can already do that there, looks pretty much exactly the same.
No...it doesn't. you have no Atrmo. But you will before the end of 2016, according to Frontier. No clue how it looks. But elite doesn't look at good as SC, imho.

Always impressive to see the breakthroughs in new technology in this and
other games like Elite:Dangerous and No Man's Sky. Amazing what you can
do on PC without the shackles of console downward compatibility. Add to
that VR and voice control and the immersion factor will be
breathtaking.
They demo'ed it on their live stream in real time, in-engine. I watch it. bad piloting and all. it's actually in-engine.
No that was their video made by that video guy they paid all the money for. Then afterwards they did a real flight of the same thing. Minus the guy and zooming out from planet to space. Maybe you linked the wrong video.
Sorry, i know what you mean. Yes, this is a video recording of the engine and gameplay...but that does not make it pre-rendered. Pre-rendered means rendered out of Max/Maya where we get seconds, minutes or even hours per frame....not frames per second.
<---this is pre-rendered...and awesome!
The video i posted was created via a real-time engine.
Until they post the vid of the live-stream landing, this is all I could find. i am sure it will be available shortly. They seem to be cutting up the livestream already and posting bits of it. If I find it, I will post you a link.

Wonder if with SC graphical quality with Space Engineers http://store.steampowered.com/app/244850/?snr=1_7_15__13 new planet functionality would ever be possible? (likely not since they just do a couple planets vs a universe) Their new planets system look awesome... shame its a build it all your self game tho.
Will be interesting to see what the planet that the current social area looks like landing down onto it our selves.

Oh... and you are getting that before the end of 2016?
oh God. Gimme your info. I need to sell some stuff.

Try to properly optimize to be anywhere near DX12 which is coming up ;-) (and partially here already, though not fully used yet)
When draw call number will explode, especially once the game(s) is/are optimized to fully take advantage of it. The current consoles will be so far behind it will hurt.

Consoles don't seem to be shackling No Man's Sky in any way, a game that's procedurally generating almost everything. I've yet to see anything in this game that a console couldn't handle with the proper optimization.
NMS is extremely stylistic, which is why the console can handle it. Really looking forward to it. Hell Games has traded visual fidelity for the gameplay experience, which is awesome.

How many people have they said they want per server?... that thing looks like its trying to house them all lol. That looks like it would be a whole level design in some games.
Not bad. The procedural aspect is really cool. Still would like to know the specs of the computer it was run on. Super powered rigs can hide a lot of issues.
And, of course, when Chris speaks, I am immediately skeptical.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

Ummm.... SC is supposed to be for "Super Powerful Rigs" so your issue is a non-issue. That was kinda the whole point since the very beginning. Pushing the PC to it's limits.
An in-engine tech demo doesn't necessarily relate to anything close to real game play (especially as they're rendered in strict, limited conditions under the best hardware available). Anything like this has to be taken with a bucket of salt as marketing nonsense until there is an actual game to demonstrate anything similar.

It's pretty long. It starts with the video I already posted, then gets into the live demo.
