    Nintendo.

Zelda, Mario, Castlevania, Metroid, FINAL FANTASY, StarFox and F-Zero!

    Rinse and repeat.

Best library of the competition hands down.

    EDIT: Formating

Yeah I enjoyed both but leaned more towards Nintendo due to Zelda games and I agree with Margrave they had a more diverse library. and Coleco vision before that:P

I was never a real gamer, i started basically enjoying computers and going to school in computer technology.
So my fist was a TRS-80  then a Commodore 64.I am sure it was not much more than a year later i bought my first pc and it was dam expensive for that era.If i remember right it cost me around 1500 + tax and was not even a top of the line PC and that was like 30 years ago.

Incredible to see the Commodore 64 was 600 US in 1983.They value that at 1500 now but i would say it is more than 1500 because that was basically THE thing back then, comparable to perhaps a 3000 dollar rig now a days.

Sega all the way. My friends all had NES but I got a Sega just because of the sports games. EDIT: Oh yeah i forgot about my Sears version of the Atari 2600. That was my first console.

    Nintendo:  NES -> SNES -> N64 -> GameCube
Friends of mine had Sega, but most memories i have with Nintendo and later PC, such good times.

Yeah I got a used VIC 20 from a family member just so I could fool around with it and try to learn how to program. My next PC was a TRS80. I still remember the HOURS typing in all the code from the back of the computer mags in the 80's that let you program your own game. The excitement when it actually worked is still one of my favorite gaming memories. But the worst was that about 6 months after getting my TRS80 Radio Shack quit making them and pulled all the stuff for it off the shelves. Man my Mom was SO pissed about that! That is why I didn't get anymore expensive "indoor" toys until I graduated and was able to buy them myself. That's when I went Sega Genesis, then Saturn.

Atari Ninetendo Sega N64 xbox xbox 360 pc ps4 xbox one - played console most of my life because it was all my family could afford and it didn't require special knowledge. Even today some folks I know shy away from the term computer. I build my own pcs now, but I still keep my xbox one because most of my irl friends that I would game with shy away from computers still today. Consider the horrible monetization we have today, it's probably for the better.

I started gaming on the Atari 2600 and Intelivision from Matel .. then worked my way up as the tech advanced but based on this article i would say i was a more Sega based fan than the Nintendo style .. I think at the time I saw Sega as more "Grown Up" , and the Nintendo being more cutesy. Today ... PS4 and PC all the way

Like @knightaudit, I started with the Atari 2600, then to the intelivision, then to my first "computer" coleco ADAM. Since then I have owned almost ever console except the xbone and ps4 because I have finally settled with my pc as gaming platform of choice.

Does a Magnavox Odyssey count? The first computer I owned was a heathkit that I built. but I had a TSR-80 later and a heathkit system CPM with S100 bus and and amazing 48K ram!

I started with NES then moved to Sega Genesis. Played Sega Genesis until the Playstation 2 slim came out which was my first 3D console. I played everything else in between (PS1, N64, SNES, Sega Saturn) back when they were fresh but never owned them.

Today, i still have my good old PS2 slim, ps3, ps4, vita. I want to go back to Nintendo out of nostalgia but their region lock suck. I like region-free/open platforms because if publishers censor a game in the west i buy the japanese/uncensored version and cooler looking platforms.

We played on Sega a lot. Shining Force, Landstalker, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe. We got an Xbox later on. We never had anything between Megadrive and Xbox, was too costly for us. On Xbox we had Jet set radio and a few other games. Now we have a PS3. I love Valkyria Chronicles. Maybe we'll get a PS4 one day when it's cheaper and the slim version is out, not sure yet.

Kids grew up on a PC, had a sega, but there were far more and better games on the PC and it was always in demand.

I've always preferred my PC.  That said, I never felt the need to choose.  Why limit yourself?

For Wing Commander I paid $200 to get an extra 1 MB RAM (yes that is correct) to see the fighters joystick move as the pixelated faces of my fellow pilots..

NES --> SNES then switched to sony.

I did love Nintendo back in the day for the variety of awesome games they had on the SNES. I actually still have my old SNES that I use to fire up earthbound, FF6, secret of mana, etc lol
