Hello Eve Players,
I installed and am using a 14 day trial. So far im at the part where I kill pirates and stuff. The graphics and things look amazing, and I would really love to get into the game, as WoW is getting old.
So far, it seems a bit dull, even though im only 1 1/2 hours into the trial. I target a pirate, approach, hit the gun and it does it for me. Is fighting in pvp like this? Anyone have any good action videos of pvp?
How much is it per month to play?
Im in MMO's for the PVP, and this won the award, is it constant pvp?
Sorry for the newb questions,
Just want to know
Thanks

Because of the quality of most responses on this forum, I would suggest you ask this question on EVE's official forum: http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp
You will also get a feel of how the pvp atmosphere is if you check out the "Crime and Punishment" part of their forum.
Thanks for pointing that out, I will post there as well.
Was reading through the awards thread, what a flame fest it was.
Awards are overrated
I'm a couple days into the trial myself. I was a bit concerned about combat being like the tutorial not being as good as the firt-person space combat of JTL. Then I got an agent mission to a deadspace area with 2 groups of ~10 pirates each fighting each other as well as me. Yes the game does it for you but once you get another ship and are dealing with multiple targets simultaneously with multiple weapons it's a lot more fun.
PVP is always more exhilerating than PVE in mmog's. The same is true for EVE.
There are so many different ship setups and group tactics to use in PVP that really aren't necessary for PVE. Just give it more time. As time goes by you will be able to equip a larger variety of modules, and when you do start pvping, you will find it to be much more entertaining than the PVE.

The combat system never changes, but you'll find yourself having to make a lot of important decisions in rapid succession using the current system anyway.
As for combat action, I suggest you visit the following to get a taste of what PvP can be like in EvE, from small engagements to large fleet battles - these are all player-created :
