Yes you can, this is the official EU only L2Classic server. You can still pre-order at http://www.lineage2.eu The server opens tomorrow (time still to be announced by Innova) for the pre-purchase early-access. Next week it'll be open for regular subscribers (yes, no cash shop, no P2W, but subscription to finance the game)

Yes and no... It's a revival of the old Lineage II (early Chronicles) feeling in the new engine. The game starts at the Age of Splendor (halfway C2) and it will basically be a kind of progression server.

Because it's a mixture of old and new certain things will be changed (patch notes here: https://4gameforum.com/threads/542088/ ). For instance guilds can't be past level 5, but from level 3 you'll have guild skills. In L2C 2.0 Gludio castle will always be a NPC caste when the sieges start (so every 2 weeks a new owner). Also very important (and I am kinda sad about it) NO PETS other than servitors...

Can you reference where you see that they are having legal issues wtih NC Soft? I can't seem to find that.

Innova is the OFFICIAL Lineage II partner for EU territory (check image below from their website).

What you guys at NCWest call EU servers are just US servers with EU event times. Innova has their servers in Frankfurt and thus gives better performance.

Wait, is this a classic era MMORPG in the same vein as Final Fantasy XI before the Abyssea trainwreck? Or before SWG had their Jedi Apocalypse? If it is I so want to try this, but I'm in the USA. x x

Its right there on the front page bottom article. They had to change the name of their domain because ncsoft sent them a warning letter about infringement. Its obvious they have found a loophole and are exploiting it without ncsofts authorization. Why this thread is still open is shocking to me right now.

This isn't the server we're talking about here, https://eu.4game.com/lineage2classic/install/ is the right address.
Innova (aka 4game) is a licensed owner of Lineage 2 in Europe, the link you posted is an unlicensed private server running on from what I heard, leaked release of Russian L2 Classic.

Back on topic, already predownloaded the game, can't wait for tomorrows release.

I'm pretty sure people from US can freely join the server. And that RU version is based on a separate subscription.

But you know what? There is an easy way to get to the bottom of this. Ask. I'll find out if NC Soft has sanctioned their use of the game in this manner or if indeed it is some sort of loop hole.

As I said, it's a private server. They sure do have a nice domain name though.

As I said, it's a private server. They sure do have a nice domain name though.

Except you posted a link to the wrong company/organization. The one you posted is not "4game". Completely different. The info abou tthem using "Lineage 2 Classic" has nothing to do with this "4game company".

I asked them about playbns and they never responded. But the forum rules state we are not to discuss servers that aren't official is the only reason I was questioning it. This clearly isn't an official server from ncsoft. Which brings us to the legality of it all. Sounds like a pirated version of the game being run by another company who doesn't have permission. Its very confusing because we have what appears to be 2 different lineage classic games running right now. neither of them appear to be official

Well, I appreciate that, but I just submitted an inquiry to NC Soft and hopefully will get a response back as to whether they sanction this service. I suspect they do but we'll see.

Look, I actually played on the lineage2classic.com private server yesterday to check out a few things before the official server starts up, and sure as hell I preordered the game on https://eu.4game.com/lineage2
Believe what you want though.

NCsoft did a test run on the Korean version to see if the classic version was desired. Other then that I do not see any evidence that Ncsoft has given legal rights to anyone to publish L2.
