Isn't Turbine shutting this down? I swear I read an article about that a month or so ago.... If not my apologies. I used to have a lot of fun with this game but I left just after Moria, really changed the game for the worse imo.
@Daakkon The Russian LOTRO service shut down earlier this year. Not sure if that's what you're thinking about?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Can't believe some of you are still putting money into this game. It's like you have absolutely zero standards as long as it has the LoTR name. Wake up
why the hate? for its sub-genre (theme park mmo) it's exceptional, especially in terms of little details that help immerse the player in middle earth. it has classes that dont exist in other games it has music, and i still hold Landroval up as the pinnacle of an mmo community.
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed.

Actually they pay most people now. I have been getting paid since they went F2P. Even though the game didnt deliver anywhere near the Middle Earth most people expected those of us who bought lifetime passes have been more than compensated. So the only question is getting paid to play a mediocre (at best) version of Middle Earth better than paying for a better version?
Problem with LoTRO wasn't that it was a bad mmo but it is not as true to the spirit of LoTR as it should be.
Agree, except the end, the pinnacle? I think it's more like the Mountains over Moria, with -at least- 3 peaks, Laurelin, Landy, and... TSW or by staying with LotRO maybe Belegaer for third (I'm not there often enough for a firm opinion, it surely has nice bands - even if my favourite german one, die Meisterbarden are on Gwaihir I think)
