Can't recommend
Tried to join the NCwest servers again and its just terribly overrun with bots. Every quest area. Not a single real person running around in the quest zones. I figured there would be bots but this isn't even worth playing. Trying to do a quest takes twice as long just because of the bots.
Ncwest needs to be shut down or ran by someone else. Just sad. Stay away from the NA servers. I can say that the EU server Core is much better, just not as many english speaking players. =(

Don't worry about trying to recommend. Just play your toon and try to get level 85 which only takes like a week of playing now. The bot situation is bad but its something you just have to look at, shake your head and keep moving. There will never be a point to where you cannot progress your character because of a bot. That's they way I have looked at the bot situation in Lineage 2 ever since I first started playing the game.
At level 85+ the problem is not nearly as bad as it at low levels. I just created a level 85 sub on my main and was suprised to see how they are not in the 85 areas like the low level areas.
If you keep letting stuff like this get in your way you will never have a high level toon and see what the real game is about. I have seen it happen to a many people. If you want to play this game then you have to just forget about bots. NC Soft should be ashamed and we all know that but it is what it is. Get your toon awakened, join an active clan thats trying to rise up, grow and get stronger. Thats what a player should be trying to do and a bot can never get in the way of that. This goes for where ever you decide to play either if its NC Soft or Innova. Keep pressing forward young adventurer.
That input makes no sense.
Online games were invented for the aspect of playing with others.
Grouping up, getting valuables to trade with others and of course a bit of rivalry.
With a server owned by bots you will not be able to party, whatever you find is worthless because the bots flood the market with items and of course whatever rare gear you find is pointless as well because the bot will have it 3 times from botting 24/7.
The better option is to play a good single player rpg then rather than playing in a world full of zombies.
This is the reply of a person who does not play the game and does not know what we is talking about. The server is not owned by bots. Every popular mmo has some form of bot or cheat. Why do you think you keep getting gold spam in Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn every 5 minutes and that's a pay to play game yet they cant even do anything about it.
I just made this video a few minutes ago to show the OP how the Awakened areas are compared to the low level areas and to show him the difference. This is coming from a person that plays the game and not just a random nobody who knows nothing about it. Never listen to people that do not play the game.
This nobody listens to people who criticize a bot problem rather than someone telling them to ignore the problem.
I rather play alone before I play with cheaters.
Then go play alone but don't come here talking about a game you have never played and don't know anything about. There is no problem or other people would not be out leveling their toons.

Anyone who denies how rotten this game is, is truly deluding themselves.
The game is free, you can go to higher level areas that the average player would have to level in, sometimes of weeks to months (depending on playtime) on a level 1 character (ports are free) and see just how absolutely crammed with bots this game is.
The in-game economy is also ruined due to farmers and eBayers. Prices are basically set by USD and then converted to Adena - only changing when the value of Adena changes/flunctuates unless something was severely nerfed or boosted.
Sounds like 2008 all over again.
Couldn't agree more! It was bad already with botting when the game was still subscription based, but at least then GMs banned from time to time. Now it's Free2Play there's no beginning on banning bots. They just level to 40 for the newbee quests, all money & items is dropped to one holder and the bot is deleted to start all over again.

I decided to make a new character and start from scratch, so far 1-70 lvls, haven't seen a single bot train. Usually by now I would have seen nothing but bots. Instead I'm greeted by actual players in the most common leveling spots, getting invited to parties. Not sure what NCwest has been doing but this is a huge improvement. Hope it lasts.
Enjoying my new toon, can't wait for it to be on steam. Will definitely re-download it when it hits.
Nope... OP is right and NCWest should be shutdown completely and license to run the PlayNC games should be transferred to a company that DOES actively fight bots. I'm not saying Innova is God (hell - FROST does really spy on your PC), but there's a lot less bots and GMs are very active to hunt them down and ban them instantly.

I call BS and will meet anybody in game for them to show me a server where all xp spots are taken over by bots.
I know you are not at my level so anything you are doing right now I have already been there and done it.
What level are you anyway? I am guessing somewhere between 90-95
Instead I went to Innova where GMs actually ban bots the moment one is spotted and reported by played. And while it also has a P2W cash shop, it's less P2W than NCWest has - it has +% chance of success on enchant rather than 100% chance that NCWest used to have (not sure NC still has those destruction enchants on the cash shop and frankly, I don't give a damn).
To answer your question, I'm 96 on Innova (1 again later today when l2C starts
But to get back on the bot issue... I wend back to NC last month and nothing really changed there when I went around a bit. bots bots bots. Just keep believing in that little fairytale you're telling yourself that there are no bots on NC servers...
