As I play in each of the closed beta weekends for NCSOFT's upcoming Blade & Soul, trying hard not to go too far beyond level 20 or so as to not spoil the game when head start begins on January 15th, a few issues poke their noses into my consciousness. The first, which we'll talk about here, is that the UI for Team Bloodsport's game is so informative that it's bearing on the verge of overkill.

I will say, it's no where near as " cumbersome", cluttered, initially overwhelming, clunky or as confusing as BDO. That said, UI improvements or not, BnS is still a Tera killer imo.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off , why should I. Light up the darkness Bob Marley
The first thing I'd suggest you do is scale the overall size of the UI down, which makes it immediately more bearable.
You can make your minimap a lot smaller and transparent, while still being able to see POIs. You can do the same with the chat window also.
I also moved the item hotbar to a far-off corner of the screen.
I'd agree that when you first log in the UI is overwhelming but with just those suggestions the issue was sorted for me.
The UI was not as big a deal as the game is just HORRIBLE.
Hope you find a game for you that's less... horrible?!
I, myself, have really enjoyed it and can't wait for early access.
Also, I think Poopsicle is a fantastic name for a Devilian guild as it sums up that game nicely.
I like the game also and plan on playing it at least till max which won't take long, these games now days (max level in a week)

the only person who thinks that the game is horrible is you,and im guessing thats cos your some PVE guy that doesnt like PVP game, thats most likely the reason, either way, this is 1 of most awaited games of the year, and people surely wouldnt wait for it if it was horrible game........
With the UI closed (Ctrl X) you can still use all the keys except it does pop back up when you use any commands to the chat box. With the limited number of attack keys and the mouse click attacks this game is pretty easy to play without the interface showing.
I think the UI is good except for the annoying tutorial text that should be fade out, mouseover stuff.
I had a hell of a hard time re-binding my keys until I figured out some weird issues in the key config. I only mention this because it is related to the UI and how I wanted buttons to be laid out. It was so confusing, that I had to take screenshots of each menu section for each time I created a new character. Other than that, I really enjoy the game.
I can agree here. You can't rebind keys that are already bound with a modifier (x for example). One solution is to rebind everything to an obscure key (eg f9) then you're free to bind to any keys afterwards.
A little frustrating to do this on every character though as keybinds aren't saved.
The default UI is bad. It can be made a lot better with some tweaks. But overall - it's pretty mediocre.
It's not something that takes away from gameplay at all - so not sure what the big deal is.
agreed DMK - the funny thing is my GF is ridiculously picky when it comes to UI's...and she didn't complain at all - apparently she was having too much fun to care.
Same guy's who made Lineage. (minus 1 :P )

22 mins in explains what quality of life and UI changes have been implemented which include consolidating the annoying bottom buttons and allowing for making the chat window entirely transparent. Other stuff too.
The UI was never really an issue for me because of the customization options, but there are some great additions nevertheless that de-clutter the screen!
