For me it was Definately fun. Monthly updates with new items and quests *free*, not played in awhile though. Long story why I left but anyway was/is a great game IMO.

It is one of the most purely fun mmorpgs out there.

AC is amazing. I love this game as it's so addicting. I've played just about every other mmo and so far AC has the nicest people, and best gameplay in my opinion.

Not too much fun for returning players, maybe for new ones though.

The game is the funnest I have played to date.  The graphics may not be to par with others but like many new games, graphics don't make the game its the content and AC is LOADED with content.  The best thing to do is start right from the beginning, read the game history and get to know what is going on in relation to all the quests.  Goto http://www.thejackcat.com/ to find out everything you need to know, and yes AC has some of the coolest players online!

The game is tremendous I have played now for 6 years... on and off last 2 though admittedly.

The guild structure the fellowships...the solo ability. Its all great... the only thing this game has ever lacked is graphics.... but the fun factor trumps the eye candy in some cases such as this!

Before I started playing I was like many people (I think) I owned a PC, Playstation xxx, Nintendo xxx, Xbox, Sega xxx, Various handheld systems. I would buy on average 2 to 4 games a month, Rent 6 to 10 just to fufill my gaming fix image. Then one day while bitching on the Battle.net Diablo II forums while the free srever was down again for the 10th that day 50th time this week I ran across a post talking about AC. That day went to local computer software store bought a copy of AC (there actually were copies on the shelf) went home installed and have never looked back. I had level 95+ ladder players on USEast servers with rare and uniques stuffed in the stash all went bye-bye as I never logged onto battle.net again. No more Diablo, Diablo II, Starcraft, Warcraft. In the last 6 years I have bought many playstaion, Xbow, Gamecube, PSP, Gameboy...Advance...DS games. But all these were for my 2 son's. The 2 games, yes 2 games that I have bought for myself in the last 6 years were Asheron's Call: Dark Majesty, Asheron's Call: Throne of Destiny. I may be biased in my opinion but you asked image.

Asheron's Call has been more then a game and a time sink for me. I have made lasting friendships with people all over the world. I have meet many players in the US been invited to weddings, birthdays & just simple player get togethers. The fact that it's also a game that you can escape into a fantasy world for a few hours (sometimes to many hours) and become a lighting shooting mage or a Insane sword master flaying away at 20-30 creatures surrounding you is a bonus image.

Striving to and surpassing Darkerknight's gimpness.

with all these postitive posts, one would think the game is nearly perfect. For me, this game is like that girlfriend that you have that is great at first, then the sh** hits the fan, leave it, and then a year later you get a call from it and get tempted to come back. Yes, that is happening right now, but I'm ignoring it.
