What if there were trade wagons?

Imagine there are carts pulled by oxen (or some animal) that travel the roads throughout Terminus. Players could load those carts up with their goods for sale, and they could buy items found on the carts. Each cart would have its own wares, some of which would be computer merchant type goods that are always available, and the rest would be whatever goods the players put on it.

The carts would not be linked, so they would not be connected hubs as with an AH. And the carts would not stay in one place, so they would always be local.

Carts could pass from one area to another regardless of faction, so this way players in opposing factions have a means to buy and sell from one another.

One thing the carts would have in common is that they at some point pass through locations intended to be localized economies, such as an EC or a Kelethin. The "draw" to those locations would in part be to check out the various carts as they roll through town. And each time they pass, what is for sale changes as the players add new items and buy other ones.

Suppose you are shopping for a Centi Longsword. A cart comes by and it has one for sale. Do you buy it? Maybe the next cart will have one cheaper. Or maybe it won't.

Or suppose you are miles deep into some badlands. You are running low on provisions. Your bags are full. Fortunately, you see a cart lumbering along in the distance where you can buy and sell.

Perhaps as a top level craftsman you could earn your own cart as a reward to ply your wares.

Just an idea.  B)
