Official forums taken down until launch?

tom_goretom_gore Member UncommonPosts: 2,001
Sounds like an iffy move for me. The headstart people have no official channel to vent their frustration praise the game before the official launch.

Hoping to sell more founder packs before everyone can try the game for free on monday?

He He that's funny, but you still can go to BNS Dojo, the unofficial B&S forums to praise the game.

Yeah I wasn't really that serious. Still, people have paid access to the game. They should have done the forum maintenance or whatever forces them to take them down for 3 days earlier :)

The timing of the shutdown is a huge "coincidence". Sounds suspiciously like they're trying to suppress any bad feedback or "spoilers". Gotta sell as many of those EA packs as possible, lol

Nothing wrong with good marketing if that's why they did it.

Besides, game access was purchased, forum access is at the grace of the provider.

Agreed here, plus if there are problems, people will still know via social media.

I don't see a problem with this. Yeah it's a marketing move. But so what? They just want to be the 1st ones to get the feedback on their game.

Of course, if ZOS had pulled a similar move during the launch of ESO, the internet would have caught fire...

But because BnS is just some little flavour-of-the-month Korean grinder, nobody really cares what they get up to.

Would the forums be filled with anything more than sensationalism anyway?

You don't recall the tears about locking factions, imperials, quest bugs, grouping issues, complaints of how much unlike Skyrim it was?

ESO caught plenty of heat at launch and a move like this would certainly added to the flames.

But you are right, I don't care about BnS, mostly due to me realizing after ESO I just dont like modern MMOs.

There was a short stint with AA during the "alpha", but have been back with EVE ever since.

Just would like to point out that the forums should be back online today, not on launch day, so you will not miss anything.
