Hmm so pretty much the same stuff we had back in 2000?Odd they are making a deal of this,i think msot expect The Division to be a quality graphic game.
Most of us have already seen the promos,i know i am buying the game,it looks good,so really baffles me why this needs to be relevant.

Getting pretty excited for the game. I am still a bit skeptical on whether they can pull off a complete experience. None the less it looks great and looks like a good time

I think that is where and the only aspect the game fails at.I think it will end up nothing more than a small co-op game with only a few maps, but oh well i am not buying it for multiplay gaming,i am buying a single player game and feel it will be good enough.

I feel Dishonored 2 is going to be goto number 1 game of 2016,The Division will be my number 2 lol.

The ONLY thing i am on the fence about is WHEN i buy it,,lmao yes i am thrifty but also smart.I might wait until a Steam sale, otherwise i want a BOX copy,no way would i pay 70-90 bucks for a digital download.

well what do you know. Maybe i can actually get it to run on my machine at a decent framerate. =)

As for it being small.. Don´t you have big chunk of central new york to play around in.? Sounds big enough for me. =P

I think the size, for better or worse, will really hinge on how deep the recreation is.  If the majority of buildings are boarded up and impossible to enter, it's not going to feel very big and interesting.  If the buildings are fully recreated, inside and out (have they said one way or another?), then it will seem like an incredibly adventurous and fun place to play with friends and explore.

The only videos I've seen reflect Manhattan. I've seen nothing that look anything like any of the other 4 buroughs of New York City, much less central New York.

Hopefully the PC version will have a high resolution texture pack so that it will actually look like the gameplay videos shown originally.

Console versions got a graphics downgrade which is not surprising

I find comments like this strange.

Obviously we all know that youtube compression makes things look drastically worse than what they actually look like. I was apart of the Alpha and the game looks far far better than any youtube video will actually show.

True true. Still if they have the entire area of manhattan done up... That will be big enough for release. =) Especially as you are on foot.

    I guess time will tell.

Wait you are buying it? But you seem to hate everything, with the exception of FFXI.

Woah are you serious? You can change graphics on a game in 2016? This has to be a lie.

Compare the current gameplay graphics to the very first video when The Division got announced. hello?
This has zero to do with "YouTube compression". Even the inside source said how they downgraded the graphics since announcement.
The Division first official gameplay video was shown in E3 - 2013 (video published July 10th). Game was supposed to be a console only back then. After the petition on change.org won on Aug 20th 2013 Ubisoft announced that they will do a PC version as well. So I'm not sure what do you mean about the original gameplay videos being better on PC, because the original video was on console indeed.

You're not following this game so this might not make any sense to you. The Division was a console only in the original plan and they added the PC version later due to a petition with 140k signatures. Since then there has been speculations about how this port to PC is going to bad (since most constole to PC ports are bad) in terms of controls, graphics options, etc. Ubisoft has been taking every opportunity to show the followers the PC version is not merely a PC port and they are launching a fully enhanced PC version.

Hence this news is in the line of diffusing such rumors.

Looks like its a long list of graphical selections, but, its really not. As for the framerate limit, no information on what that limit is? if its limit to 30 fps, then you would have to be crazy to use it, take FFXIV:ARR you can select from 30:60:unlimited, so having an on/off frame limit seems, to be honest, totally misleading, and implies that the frame limit is probably 30 fps which for a shooter type game, is totally unacceptable.
Next is no info on supported resolutions, and then FXAA the only option?
The list looks like its been artificially padded out and lacking of a lot of the options normally associated with PC games, that kind of thing might be good enough for Consoles, but for PC's, frankly expected more.
To me it looks more like the Watchdogs debacle, where people were having to dig into the .ini files in order to unlock/change the settings to improve the gameplay, a common failing in Ubisoft games, the other of course being Uplay, the servers for which in previous games have been somewhat unreliable.

The first official gameplay was run on high end pc to show superb graphics, misleading people into thinking, nextgens are capable of rendering this kind of stuff, which they obviously arent. This was all about hyping nextgens, and pc version was probably planned from the beginning.

    EDIT: typo
Yeah I read that too. That Microsoft and Sony gave several silent shares to Ubisoft to con people with that video - Illuminati Today Issue #911131313

The original video show was actually from a PC client not console. What they had running at e3 was a PC not a devkit console.

Everything else you said is true.

Yeah maybe I worded it wrong, I know there was a PC. What I meant was they show cased the game as it was supposed to be on Consoles because there was no PC version back then. They didn't actually go through the process of dumbing the graphics for consoles. As they fully explained back in 2014 all three platforms PC, X1 and PS4 will get their own attention when it comes down to graphics and they will use the capacity of all platforms to the max. You might say they are lying about it, but those were the official statements ;)

    Watch Dogs anyone?

Show a gorgeous demo running on a PC in E3.
Release a cut-down graphics version for PC at launch so that the console peasants don't cry too much.

    Same story here.

And no it doesn't have anything to do with "PCs not being able to run that level of graphics" and everything to do with protecting the sales of the console versions.

Heavens forbid if the easier-to-pirate (debatable, as it seems new copy protections are proving to be a real b*tch to crack) PC version would look much better than the console versions.

I don't care about graphics that much and since this is MMORPG site, I believe the majority here feels the same.
This game has some really nice things going for it (in my book), such as: lots of RPG elements, no loading screens, seamless matchmaking, day/night cycle, different weather, no microtransactions.

If there are no significant technical issues, and if the developers deliver enough content at launch (my biggest concern), this game should be a big hit in 2016.

Actually we know they have lied about that very thing in the past, remember Watchdogs and the whole graphical fidelity thing, and no, the versions demonstrated in both cases weren't representative of the graphics for Console, but for PC's and when they released, they dumbed down the graphics on PC so they wouldn't look too glaringly different from the console versions, at least until people went and modified the ini files etc. and 'upgraded' the graphics on PC's. So, yes, i think a lot of people might say they are lying about it, and those were the official statements, for what their worth.

Uh, the 2013 E3 demo was on PCs.

The PS4 and Xbox One didnt exist in August 2013, all of the games shown at E3 2013 were on dev kits.
