on the contrary: these DDoS things are profitable if it raises huge controversy.
smedley probably knows best what the court should have ruled because he knows what it costs them to be DDoS'd p:

Well, that's how it goes when you pee in your player base's cheerios.
Every day, the world becomes more reliant on the internet. There will come a time when the havoc created by a DDoS attack will simply be unacceptable.

Think his tirade resulted in him getting fired there.
Wouldn't be surprised if he goes at the hackers again on social media again soon.
"going into arguments with idiots is a lost cause, it requires you to stoop down to their level and you can't win"
The person doesn't matter, anyone DDoSing deserves to pay the estimated revenue lost because of their actions. Maybe that will stop it.
In regards to this news article, Cloudflair is a DDoS countermeasure. If you notice, once you try to access the site and get the scan page, the next time you try you go directly to the site.
Edit: Meaning they are not being actively DDoS'd but protecting against it.

They are trolling Smedley, not realising... or not caring about everyone else affected in the process.

I mean... it might be a commendable thing to go to the darkest, seediest part of town and shout "I'm here to get all of you criminal bastards!" But unless you're Liam Neeson on the set of Taken 23, you know it's not the smartest thing to do.

I'm not sure which of the two parties is more childish. They deserve each other that much is clear.
I guess you are referring his tweet. He made the comment, because he thought he had justice on his side. The justice system failed him. He should not have made that comment, because he held such a high position, but he said what most would say after being repeatedly harassed.
sorry just joke I just see that the exact same arguments about national security will be used here if the conversation keeps up so I thought I would throw it out their outright.

Kind of sad that so many hate Smed enough to wish him be terrorized by these hackers. I am sure he regrets what he said to them on Twitter as many things changed in his life after that point. They have been after him for a long time (SOE, Daybreak, now this), but they just won't let it go. I think that they made their point and I wish they would leAve the guy alone.

Some people do hate him I guess. The rest of us just knew that when you call out the hackers on twitter it wouldn't end well.

Fair enough. I just do not understand people wishing this kind of stuff on another human
