I laughed a lot harder at this than I probably should have ;-]
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I did not see any mention of what type of game this is,moba, browser, console etc etc, nothing.
I'm more or less assuming it's a Monster Hunter-esque title on the 3DS.

The article said it was a Monster Hunter-esque game. So they technically did, but if you don't know what Monster Hunter is, then you gotta google. Also he mentioned it was on 3DS at least.
And judging by the aggregates I'm reading.. "grindy" seems like the best way to describe this game.

Ultimately, this was a day 1 purchase for me. But if all it is, is going out an killing random stuff, then what's the point of the game? There's (ultimately) no story. So if you're grinding/killing stuff what makes it different/better than say MH4U or something like Xenoblade Chronicles? I'm having a hard time justifying what should have been an immediate purchase.
10 "historic" characters out of.... 14+ games. Couple of jobs and a couple of Eidolons to capture.
I've also read that it is only 8-10 hrs long for the game.
So does the 8.2 make it a full price game? A wait til it's on sale game? A deeply B1G1 game? Or a bargain bin game? The meta score is at 72 which is barely passing in my eyes. Especially when you consider something like Lego Avengers ALSO released today and Lego has, historically, fielded 100+ characters and at least 20-30 hrs of gameplay.
So reviews from anywhere (but this site in particular) are helpful to determine where my cash flow goes.
And I still think the jury is out on whether or not MMORPG should be considering 3DS games. I don't know that I consider the game ARPG any more than just RPG (I think Diablo when I think ARPG).
Diablo I was released 1996, Final Fantasy Adventure was released 1991. Both are classified as action role-playing games. Diablo doesn't even hold the "father of all ARPGs" title.
Diablo popularized a specific type of action rpgs, much like WoW did for MMORPGs.
@Ikeda Don't know where you're getting the 8-10hrs from. Most of the reviews I've read say upwards of 25hrs + and some reader reviews I've read say they have more than 40 invested into it.
I have enough consoles as it is, I can't get another one, especially a handheld. Last handheld game I played was DQIX, and while it was a good game it was not good on my hands. They cramped up after playing for so long.
FYI, that's me but when I went with the XL, everything clicked. I don't care for my Vita for a similar reason. I had to buy the grips to make it like a giant controller so my hands didn't cramp.
BUT I can boot it up on the go. 5 minutes at lunch, 15 minutes waiting at the doctors. I can't do that with a PC or console.
