Currently BORED out of my mind with SWG... anyone have suggestions for a new game?

Hey,

Star Wars Galaxies, once a great game with a big community and endless things to do has been reduced to a child's first person shooter with a community of whining babies. The game has just simply become boring for me. I am looking to start a new game, but there are SO many to choose from. Anyone have any suggestions on what are fun MMOs to play right now? I really liked pre-cu and cu Star Wars Galaxies (if any of you played that). I also enjoy Matrix Online. Lots will say WoW, and I am considering that one, but for now please suggest ones other then WoW if possible.

    I see a lot of SWG refugees entering the newbie-help chat channel in EVE Online. I think most have joined because of the promised sandbox content, similiar to which SWG had in the early days.

    Anyway, its certainly worth giving the 14 day trial a go.

    as a fellow SWG refugee I've also been on the market for a MMO. I've recently gotten back into Everquest and have been doing 14 day trials of nearly every MMO out there. I found EVE to be interesting, by far the most interesting of the bunch but it never really pulled me in. The Matrix online reminded me too much of SWG (seems kinda broken) and EQ2 is second to none in the graphics department. Dark Age of Camelot was incredibly tiresome and very boring. If I were you I'd do what I've been doing, sample all the trials available.

    I'm also an ex-SWG player and I'm still searching. EVE caught my attention for about a week, but I just couldn't get into it. I don't like not having a character. Not being able to run around on a planet. It's a great game, and I can see why people play it, but it's not for me. WoW is very cool, and you'll love it for a bit, but it just doesn't have the staying power of SWG. You'll get bored. And the community (not pointing any fingers, just generalizing) is very immature. I'm sure there are great groups of people to play with, but they are in the minority. I'm having a bit of fun with Anarchy Online right now, but I forsee my days there not lasting too much longer either. But hey, at least it's free. My next stop is DAoC I think.

    Very true thoughts guys. WoW does seem immature and thats one of the reasons I don't really know. The only reason I would play is in hope of meeting old buddies.

     

    As far as EVE I agree, it seemed AMAZING! when I played the trial but I really didn't like not having a character. Thats what sparked my interest in MMOs. But SOE killed the best game I ever played!

     

    As far as playing free trials... I am doing that right now.. still trying to find a game that is really really fun like SWG. I think those games are coming out, but as of right now there arn't too many.
