Skald and Thane questions.

I have a level 24 skald and a level 14 thane, the skald is speced 24 BS, 13 hammer and 10 parry. SHould I use a 2h hammer or a 1h with a shield ? So far I been using a 2h and it seems to do alot of damage when I do not miss.

All I need to know for my thane is if I should use the 2h hammer or the 1h hammer ? I mainly am rvr'n so whatever is best for that ? The last thing I wanna know is what toon is now more powerful in THid, THane or Skald?

My recommendation on a Skald is:
Max Battlesongs, 44 Hammer, Rest in Parry. (Corrected my post. I have no idea why I thought Skald had shield spec... wishful thinking maybe? :))

For a Thane there are so many ways to spec it's not even funny. My personal preference is a caster/shield thane:
Keep Stormcalling maxxed. Stop it at 46. 42 Shields, 39 hammer, 20 Parry. The Thane is a Melee/Caster class but you will typically NOT be right up front with the tanks if you go caster spec. At 46 SC you'll have plenty of raw 'nuke' power, the best self-dmg add and the 2nd best buffs for Thane. At 39 Hammer you have the best parry style and both the starter and finishing move for the block style that 42 shield will let you maximize. 42 shield gives you a free anytime 9 sec stun. With RR's and Items you should hit very reliably and block like a madman as well as parry very well. You'll also be able to flip to 2h Hammer well though it will dramatically reduce your defensive power since you won't have the monster shield up. Also with 42 shield you can put a nice guardIII on any casters smart enough to stay near you when you stop to cast.
I like the caster thane best because he gives you the most options. The only tweak I've considered on my caster thane is to take SC to 50 and reduce parry.

Unless I'm forgetting something from my 50 Skald or things have changed recently, Skalds cannot spec shield.  I agree on 50 BS but I'd put 39-42 in your weapon and the rest in parry.

omg are we talking aout the same game? ^^

    Skald specs would be:

    a) 44 hammer (2h) - gives you a backposi-snare style, rest battlesongs (or 50 hammer, to increase your weaponskill, and 43 battlesongs = speed 5)

    b) 50 Sword (2h) - High dmg backpositional (ragnaroek) and 43 battlesongs for speed 5
