Imagine an Asheron's Call 2.5 if you will.....

All the graphics of AC2, WoW, Guild Wars, DDO, etc but with the exact same map, spells, skills, quest, towns, etc as Asheron's Call 1.

OH the dreams I can have ::::01::

I actually think the graphics are good compared to newer games ever since they released the "very high" textures. Ever since the throne of destiny expansion, the graphics have been good. I think what the game needs most right now is a free trial.

i think the game needs a massive advertising campaign and a free trial with new/empty servers.  The game is pretty old, and from what i can tell most players are well over level 100.  It wouldn't be a bad idea for AC to follow DAoC's lead and combine servers so there is more of a concentration of players.

I think we need to fill up all the servers we have before opening new ones. A new one was opened summer last year.

If they make a free trial, then word of mouth would be much more effective. That alone would boost the advertising.

i think that two things keep people from trying AC and especially from coming back.

    1) the last time i played the game, it was a single player ORPG. If Turbine would combine all the servers into one then there would be a higher concentration of players and new players would have a better sense of community.

    2) the economy is saturated with uber loot. It was bad last year, i can imagine what its like now. If they started a marketing campaign, encouraged all the new players to start on one server, and allowed one character per account to transfer to any server then the game could revitalize.

NOTHING will save AC1. The only thing that will extend its life slightly is a free trial system.

AC3 (or "AC1.5") should only be made when AC1 is completely dead. No one wants to play a game that has been around this long even if the graphics were modernized.

AC doesn't need saving. It is doing just fine. I see people all over the place.
