Sorry but I only care about the numbers. I dont do opinions that is why I say reviews are pretty much worthless these days. Sales is all that matters now.

The game has been NC Soft's 2nd best title and like the chart says.

B&S recorded strong sales on the back of contents updates and in-game item promotions.

Congrats, you just showed what B&S was making as a subscription game while showing that the original Lineage which is over 16 YEARS OLD made over 2x what B&S did...your point, you just disproved it.

Check it out, if I swap "Blade and Soul" out of this article and put in ANY MMO games that are in existence right now; it works just as well lol! Great job Bill Murphy!

Best part of this game is riding the Dragon Pulse's. Some captivating cut scene travel right there.

Skill? In an MMORPG? I suppose you are also "skilled" at brushing your teeth?

Anything that can be taught and repeated over and over and over, doesn't require skill.

Wait... is this sarcasm? Is it even half sarcasm? Because all skill is, like, down to the very core concept, is repeating shit over and over until you master it. lol

Many people say this game is bad, but I think it's awesome. Played it for 2+years and I really enjoyed it. I've played many other MMOs but none of them has as good a story as BnS. The PvE content is quite varied and challenging enough to actually keep you on your toes (instead of just keep pressing one button till you fall asleep). Can't say much for the PvP coz my gears are poo so I don't PvP a lot except for the dailies.
  • cagancagan Member UncommonPosts: 445
I agree with most of it, got to 45, did max level dungeons and dailies for 2-3 days and stopped playing. It is a good time killer between games for a few weeks. Pvp Is really good if you are into it but that's about it... just another themepark to spend some time in.
  • xxtriadxxxxtriadxx Member UncommonPosts: 155
If you like it after about a week you'll probably continue to like it.
For most 2-3 days will be enough to lose interest.
The fighting is "fun" ...the game the fighting is in is just the usual Asian style grinder.
  • JDis25JDis25 Member RarePosts: 1,353
You really need to hit max to have the most fun and before you say it, I know... trust me I know. But it's true.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

It's a fun game for about 2 weeks. The combat is freaking amazing but i like my pve in mmorpgs and dailies are not my cup of tea.

...Name five MMO's with interesting stories in the first 7 (15 muinutes) levels.

Not that I disagree with your point simsalabim77, but the question got me thinking,

    I can name three
The Secret World #1 (in a league of its own)
    SWTOR
    The Elder Scrolls Online

    With perhaps two honorable mentions
    Final Fantasy
    Path of Exile

But if you disagreed with me on the last two, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

Played up to cap45, but its one huge money grab by NC.
Mushins Tower is just a pain, and no fun doing solo.
I got the feeling the game wants to stop you progressing, with the stupid wheels of fortune, and trying to get your next weapon to cap.

I like my adventures to be fluid, this is not, and just gets really frustrating at times.
Combat is the only thing this game has.
Im really annoyed with NC, as they have years of experiance in mmo,s, and, just throw this together for a money grab IMO, just another tacless piece of junk.

I wont be renewing my sub, and will most likely go back to ESO.
Boy...., and I thought Tera was bad with no added content.

i couldn't stick with it and i even paid to get passed those queues. it was seriously about as mind numbing of a gaming experience as i've ever had. it takes more than great combat...at least for me. here lately its been 2-3 months tops as far as new mmos i've tried but i lasted like 2 weeks here(lvl25). from everything i've heard/read its all about the 1v1...i could be wrong. i want a living breathing world with a variety of different things to do that are somewhat engaging and i didn't get a sense of that at all with bns.

You should look into some older games then, games like that are not very popular these day, even the upcoming BDO is actually an even more shallow game then BnS it just looks a bit prettier.

    More shallow? Are you joking?

I would add LOTRO to that list.
I agree with TSW for sure. It's really a shame that game didn't do better. So much atmosphere and intrigue. I don't remember being particularly enthralled by SWTOR in the first 15 minutes, but looking back at it the story felt way more cohesive and I felt like a real hero. I wasn't entertained by ESO's starter experience. Later on, I enjoyed the storyline, but really, 15 minutes barely gets you out of the very first area.

I love the way they handle the PvP making it totally the player's decision. It is a wonderful affirmation of choice being in the player's hands. Easy mechanic of changing clothes and allowing the player total control on the where, how and what circumstances a player finds it acceptable to engage in PvP. BRAVO !!!

Yeah, for anything else in life that requires skill. I suppose if you want to say playing with Fisher Price toys takes skill, then maybe you have a point about MMORPG PVP. In  this particular game, I have no experience to comment, however, in every other MMORPG I have played.....PVP requires you to simply show up. PERIOD. You don't even have to play well. You don't even have to play badly, you don't even have to play. Just show up. Do that enough times, and miraculously, you get good with no skill what so ever. So, no, MMORPG PVP (Except BnS) require little to no skill.

Left the game because of the combat system, it's only about combos and procs, all you do is repeat the same combos over and over and wait for skills to proc, nice try, but i like freedom of choices. Also, very generic world and lore

I felt the same way. Once you learn it the game gets boring. And today people call this skill. This is my big problem with all these action combat mmo's. They just get boring once you know the right moves.

What rating did you make it to in arena? In my experience, most people who say such and such is easy and boring are the ones that are usually bad.
  • CryptorCryptor Member UncommonPosts: 523
I wonder what this rating would have been if everyone was not so fascinated by the art style.

After 14 hours of play time my rating would be 5.5

Horrid PvE, above average combat that will work for some, PvP is a total nonsense. This game has nothing to offer but a grind, like all asian games.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen people complain about how WoW is a piss-easy, boring, carebear game, but when asked for raid or arena achievements those same people have only done LFR and never set foot in arena.

you mean like dribbling, passing, catching, kicking, etc? You just described every basic activity in all of sports, and then said "doesn't require skill."

It's the opposite, if it requires practice, then it's probably a skill.

Shitposting is also a skill that takes years of practice. I should know.

PVP is total nonsense?  Just because it has a super high skill ceiling doesn't make it nonsense...

As for the PVE- show me better.
