Riders of Icarus is the North American incarnation of Korea's hit MMORPG, Icarus. Being localized for the west by Nexon and due to hit our digital shores this year, we caught up with the publisher to talk about the game and what makes it stand out from the pack of import MMORPGs.

    Well, Korea does churn out MMO's like sausages...

    Will we see a "westernised" Korean MMO launch every month through 2016, I wonder ? :D

    Wouldn't be surprised tbh, players seems to know what they want over there and devs have bit more breathing space to try things.

    Here as dev your damned if you do or damned if you don't and players seem very picky and overly critical imho

    Gotta love ip blocking, the south east asia version blocks IP from bangladesh saying we are not in south east asia(??) and this version; well i am not in NA or EU so fuck me. But the excuse of nexon why it is not available is really interesting ; "to prevent hacking and cheating issues we have excluded some territories from out service", but they did not exclude russia it seems; the country with the best hackers...

    Did not get a chance to play much of the last beta because it was during a Blade And Soul beta. 

    The flying was really good though.

    I spent roughly an hour or two trying this game out. Admittedly I didn't reach the flying combat and all that stuff, in fact I didn't get very far after the tutorial area, but I didn't need to. The combat is basically an "actiony" tab-targetting system with nothing really special about it that would make it stand out. Rather, combat is very dull, graphics are on the low-end even with the settings at the maximum and the questing is just as repetitive, uninspired and dull like everything else that's out there.

    Do you like to hear yourself blabber like a derp? I guess like how western gets call of duty or sports games churned out every year. Besides this game main aspect is flying and flying combat

    If the combat is better than Bless, I think I will definitely give it a try.

    Been playing beta. I just love it when an mmo slips under my radar, try it without much expectations and have a pleasant surprise! I love the environment, I feel quite comfortable in this world, which takes advantage of Cry Engine. Going to play this one on release for sure.
