Hex: Shards of Fate has recently left its beta status behind and launched a major feature update. Garnering a lot of press in the meantime has led to a lot of new players coming over from Hearthstone and Magic: the Gathering to see what this "new" kid on the block has to offer. I say "new" in quotes because Hex is over two and a half years old since the Kickstarter, but slow going, and a lawsuit from Wizards of the Coast have slowed things down.

Victories also don't seem that thrilling, more of a "hey, look at that.. I won".
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
Hasbro is the parent company of WOTC.They are likely the most active "annoying" copyright seekers on the planet, they try everyday to lock up copyrights on ideas they have no business doing or going after.
IMO They are blatant abusers of the legal system to satisfy their greed.
On the topic of Hex,played it quite a bit,i would have say it is simply not good enough.Duelyst is just doing it better,an actual interaction board and removing a bit of the rng that plagues tcg's.Right now i have Duelyst as the best format on the TCG gaming front, but does suffer from some poor choices on cards, like every tcg does.
By going with two colors is perhaps better than mtg,but still Duelyst only needs the mana no colors,so it lowers the rng factor.Hearthstone makes no use of the game board other than placement which hardly ever is a factor.
The biggest flaw and imo a game breaker in everyone of these tcg's is these games end up nothing more than a deck full of the rare exspensive cards, this removes the SKILL aspect of gaming and simply supports the cash shops.
Bottom line is we still need to improve the development of TCG's ,they rely too much on the cards and less on the player. As well it comes down to everyone playing the same cards with VERY few exceptions.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I'm not much of a TCG or CCG player, either. Magic is completely foreign to me. HS I found mildly entertaining, but not enough to take me away from more serious attachments.
Hex, however, I view as completely casual in the realm of these things. Magic has too many rules and secret this and thats you need to remember or know to get through a game. Too many to bother with if you only play occasionally. HS success is really based on buying cards, more than you ever want to spend for a game you play a few times a month.
Hex is just a nice game for the last hour of the day. Even though Matt gives a lot of detailed information here, you don't need to know much to enjoy the game. I suck at deck building as well, but Hex's card skills are not so complex or arcane that you can't grasp them by simply reading the card.
The PvE campaign is the hook for me. I never bought HS's campaigns because I never enjoyed the game enough to spend money on it. But Hex's campaign is free. So of all the card games I've played, this is the only one on my game bar.
Its a TCG... and no one ever goes with a tcg model for a virtual card game. That is why this game is so amazing for tcg players... scrub. It is unecessary, just like it is with every other game design ever. This is this game though. Its a design that has been around forever. Its fun. It works... its a tcg..
So much for any skill beyond buying the cards. Anyone that tries to say these games are free is outright nuts. Yes, developers have to make money, but the cash shop just makes a mockery of such.
