Next phase of Beta??

A friend of mine got in a couple months back when Beta phase 2 was launched. I am still waiting. Anyone have any ideas on when Beta 3 will launch so more invites would be sent?

No one can give you an answer to that. But the client download went up on fileplanet today which might mean that beta 3 is very close to starting and a lot of invites will be coming soon.

Also notice the number of downloads has been steadily increasing. It was 30 awhile back and now its up to 74. So someone is downloading. Maybe Beta 3 is starting today? But no matter what it means it is good news to see it there on fileplanet.
I think people are just downloading it.

So weird normally i get into everything during family and friends beta. With Vanguard i havn't.

I have a fileplanet subscription, and it just redirects me to the home page. So it definately isn't available to everyone.

I beleive that everyone that went to the last fanguard thing got a free spot in beta 3.

I wish I could have gone to fanguard too, but like most of us, I can't spend hundreds or thousands visiting a game that I might not even like. (Of course it looks like I will like it..) Anyway, to those who did go, they do deserve to have that beta spot, I guess.
Anyway, I dislike beta tests because you don't keep the character, you don't keep anything, and then you're always thinking of "back in beta days..." so you tend to lose interest quicker, imo.

I dont think vanguard beta spots were handed out based on how much a fanboi you are or how much you post on the forums, a certain person i know didnt post once on the vanguard forums, he just aplied using the normal microfot beta process and that was it.
Mostly its random picks from the aplications submited.

They apply several filters and randomly pick users that meet the requirements that they are looking for. Of course people that attend fanguard automatically get in. I'm sure other special circumstances apply as well.
From reading the Vanguard forums I think that nobody really knows how they give out beta access.
From what i read it seems like its more or less random - with some exception towards very specific posters and specific computer specs.
I think they are still in the Beta 2 phase and are actually moving on towards 3.
Not sure though.

Would like to see an open beta weekend at Fileplanet. I really got a good impression from D&D Online (decided against playing it after the weeked, because of the overall gameplay) there. I think its a good possibility to test a game prerelease. Shortly before release most features are implementet and with a good sense of what can be expected at the start of a MMORPG it gives the impression like a trial that is avaible only long after the release in most MMORPGs. Perhaps the download there is a first sign of cooperation.

Regardings the Betaphases the developers are really quiet in the forums, so I wouldn't overrate such a download there. Perhaps its just a new client for the old testers, perhaps theres a steady flow of new testers all the time - I wasn't able to find exact and officially confirmed informations in the official forums regardings this - only very old informations are avaible.
it was confirmed by the leaked march beta newsletter and by a post in the official message board that fileplanet client was for the current testers and beta 3 was not starting yet.

Gives us hope that some of still have the chance to get into Beta.

Beta phase 3 we have to check on, but no way is there an open beta phase this weekend. Its just too early in development. Don't up with crappy rumours like that please...you will mislead people and become an unreliable source on these forums.

Beta 3 has not started. Beta 3 is a long way away. It just entered 2.5 (in fact they are more or less "working" towards 2.5)
They are doing a 5-10k more invites within the next two weeks to.
Beta 3 is doubtful to start before E3. Most likely it will start a month or so after E3.
