I just played about an hour of it and it looks good so far. But I have 2 issues:
1. The cutscenes make me nauseous as hell. The camera bob is fucking retarded as all get out. FOV related?
2. In that hour of playtime I had 4 instances of the game minimizing and a Windows popup saying that my computer was running out of memory. When checking the Task manager I had 5.7 of 8 Gb used. That seems like plenty of unused memory to me. I haven't had this problem with any other game I've played, although I just built this rig so I'm not sure if it's a game issue or my computer.

I have been looking forward to this game for a long time now. When it was first revealed, I thought it might be just what the mmo gaming world needed. An open world persistent shooter.
What it has become is an instanced solo/coop mindless grind for gear.
After 3 or 4 hours I kept thinking to myself, "this isn't really fun" I wanted it to be, I kept playing for hours more, but nothing changed. Even though I can see there is more to do which they didn't unlock for the beta, I can easily see that its just more repetitive "same old same old"
These are my opinions, and for those who are enjoying it, I'm jealous of you, because I wanted to enjoy it myself, but if I'm being honest, it's not.
but it will DEFINITELY go FTP within the first 3 months because of the lack of diversity in world, character and gameplay.
Hmm maybe you should do a little more research on the game before you comment on it...
I guess I should have clarified...I think the console versions will always cost something...but I don't the PC version will stand a chance with a price tag on it....
I disagree look at The Crew fairly close in concept and that still requires money to play and they recently launched an expansion.

Your comment makes it sound like a bad thing lol. You gave it a fair shake. It wasn't as fun as you thought it would be. You didn't find out after release. You didn't spend money on it (?). Sounds like a win/win.
Personally I've been excited for this game for a very long time now. I loved my time with it. Definitely looking forward to release. Wonder if that is because even though it is called a MMO, I don't treat it like a MMO. I consider it more of a shared world shooter akin to Destiny. I did burn out on Destiny though, but probably wouldn't have if they had a dark zone like Division.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.
Played a good deal, controls and polish is nice. Game ran well on my computer with ultra settings at 1440p. I was very excited to buy this game; however I don't think I will be after playing some of the beta. It just seems a bit bland for me, almost mindless when playing. There is an audience for it; however I'm not in that group. Check out the beta this weekend if you were hyped for it before you spend $60.00 blindly.

I disagree. R6 is a paid game with less options and not an open world game and online only. I do not see R6 going F2P. Should not compare this to ESO or GW2 this is a different kind of game.
Then I take that back...It's just mind-boggling to me that Online gaming has gotten so mediocre....I know 10 years ago nobody would have paid for this crap

Because YOU think a beta is mediocre doesn't mean the game or potentially millions of others agree with you. It's mind-boggling people still can't grasp the concept of opinions.

so what you are saying is, that this forum is only for professionals with objective and fact based statements on video games? good one...

Not at all you were the one saying 10 years ago nobody would have bought this game based on your opinion of it.
Fun so far. Makes me realize I need to upgrade my GPU though. 760 just isn't cutting it with the latest and greatest, at least not with the majority of bells and whistles turned on. Hooray for tax refunds... even though it would be ideal if you didn't get grossly overcharged in the first place, but that's a whole different topic.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

I deeply apologize for not mentioning that that is just my opinion on the topic...I thought that was obvious, but obviously not...
10 years ago people would have killed for a game like that but imho that might be because of the gfx and the coop play weren't available for PC at that time. Hell, back then I bought an Xbox just to play coop Halo with friends. But after playing some more I have to admit that except for the coop and group gameplay the game doesn't have that much going for it. Sure it's pretty and all but the basic game is nothing new. Still wish everyone who enjoys it the best. I mean if you spend $100+ on a game you better enjoy it ^^
Played it for awhile today. It could be fun with friends or something.
There's just nothing to do. It's honestly just running around looking for something to do. Most people are probably flagged rogue just because they have nothing else to do. The Dark Zone is okay. It just feels so empty. You can run for minutes without seeing enemy npcs let alone other players.
Loved every minute of the closed beta. Ready to play the open beta even though it's just one mission extra. Hard to put the finger on why I enjoy it so much. It may be a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.
There is some truth to this statement, sometimes looking at all the individual parts, which is how i look at games can bring down added criticism.
If the whole package just seems to fit well together it can be decent fun even if the individual aspects are ho hum.I thought about it a lot and then i realized i enjoy and play lots of games that many of the individual aspects of design are just shallow or bad but the whole game is just nicely done.
For myself there are a few ideals that just need to be right or i am so out there so fast, i make a sports car look like a bicycle. One of my biggest concerns going into a game is the UI,it just seems like so many games do it so poorly ,i won't even give a game a fair shake just out of spite.SO a game really needs to present itself really well in the first 5 minutes, good graphics, good UI,smooth animations,no lag then i am at least stepping in the door feeling relaxed about my purchase.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Loved the game in closed beta. Loved it so much that I did the same exact thing over again in open beta. Why do i love this game so much?
1. The game is balanced perfectly for the PvE to PvP transition. You can purely PvP in this game, or you can purely PvE. Even if you go to the Dark Zone, you don't have to fight a single person. You may get shot now and then, but the system they have set up is great for both PvEer's and PvPer's. I can't think of one game released in the last decade that balanced this transition so well. They either separate these two things entirely, or just focus on one and forget the other.
2. Gear matters! How many games have I played these past years where i could coast by wearing beginning gear because the game would hold my hand the entire way. Finally, The Division gets it. The gear you wear effects everything! From the stats you get on your gear to how you balance out your life, skill power and damage. Most of you probably didn't even bother to get that far, but there was a lot of potential for decking your character out in very fun ways. I made a character that could tank just about anything while stacking armor and life. It was hilarious engaging people in the dark zone, going rogue and watching 5-10 people try and kill me and chase me around the map. I also did the same while buffing out damage where I could drop people in a blink of an eye. Or dump all of your gear into skills. There was crazy fun things to do and it is only the beta with limits! I haven't even gotten to craft yet....
3. Crafting! We didn't get to experience it in the beta, but if you were paying attention at all during your play through, you can already see how extensive it will be. I was getting recipes + material left and right. I can't even remember the last time a game was released with worthwhile crafting and judging by how much stats effect your character in this game, crafting will go a long, long way. I can't wait to try and build a healing character! Again, if anyone was paying attention while playing, there will be healing characters in this game, as well as tanks, support, etc. How you build your character will be completely up to you. It is not just a run and gun people. Look past the surface. Didn't you notice the reduce threat on scopes!? Or the gear with reduce skill cooldowns!?
4. Go where you want, do what you want. Besides the marks they put on your map (which is honestly the only hand holding they do in this game) the game is open for you to explore and there is a lot to explore. I found tons of fun secrets in this game and had a blast mapping out all of the chests, treasures, enemies, camps, etc of information scattered across the map.
5. Solo and group friendly! Do you have any idea how hard it is to balance a game around this. Especially when it comes to PvP and group play? The fact that i could go into the dark zone solo style, while others were in groups and still be competitive was honestly amazing. Most of my time in the Dark Zone was solo and I was surrounded by groups, but the system they have set up works perfectly to make enjoyment for both group and the solo guy.
6. Interaction. There is so much room for this, especially in the dark zone (which reminds me, turn on your mics!) There were so many times where I met people randomly and joined forces. A couple of times a bunch of solo people joined together to hunt down the 4 man parties who were out to kill. We had 10+ solo guys who all got together to go on the hunt. The thing that made is so enjoyable though, was knowing that the 4 party group going rogue was having just as much fun trying to fend us off as we had hunting them down. The rogue system is amazing. It has been a long time since I've just randomly gotten into dialogue while gaming, only to end up doing something completely different and enjoyable.
I could go on people, but if all you did was log in, get bored and think this is just another shooter game, then you obviously didn't experience enough of the game to make any kind of informed review.
I enjoyed the second story mission, i am confident enough now that at least the story of the game will be worth to play it. All the other things, well endgame pve we know near to nothing about it so i think there will be none at release. PvP, i have no interest in a game that 2016 checks critical things like ammo status client side and therefore welcome cheaters in a massive way.
Fun game. Not a MMO in any way. ( As it seems, next we will be calling Dark Souls a MMO. )
In any case. The game looks stunning (if you have hardware). The gameplay is solid. But I think it will get boring very fast, because it lacks in variety.
If you are into singleplayer/co-op shooters. I think its money well spent
Well it's very pretty, that has to be said. My biggest problem is that Tom Clancy titles have always tended to be more realistinc than the average FPS. Anyone ever play Rainbow Six? Get shot in that and you were fucked.
This was way too easy. Very inconsistent damage, sometimes you'd kill with a couple of shots and other times you could unload a full clip into something. I hate bullet sponge mechanics in shooters. If I shoot something it should die, bam, 2-3 shots and dead. None of this 30 rounds to kill someone.
The first mission I did into the hospital had a boss at the end that took half a dozen clips and all my grenades to kill. Grenades FFS! All of them. Fuck that shit, this is a Tom Clancy game, 1 grenade should kill everything in the room.
That was when I quit to desktop and uninstalled it. Piece of shit, bullet sponge, unrealistic damage modelled, garbage. Tom Clancy should sue them for putting his name on this. What a load of wank.
All I know is it has been a good decade since I skipped sleep on a working night for a video game and last time I cancelled a meeting to keep on playing was when Starcraft was released. Guess I'm hooked.
Gaming Rocks next gen. community for last gen. gamers launching soon.
I kinda liked it. Unfotunately, even though I got slightly above minimum required machine, the game runs only between 10-15 FPS at any time, on the lowest settings.

Even first intro cinematic where all storytelling should be.. its so bland
But I know I'm picky, it isn't a bad game just very average if you ask me, and new york looks petty though ~
