The reason these games cater to people who dont play 16 hours a day, is that people who play 16 hours a day ( at least maybe 95% of them) dont have any money.

The reason they are called games is because they are supposed to be a diversion from reality.

The addict tries to construct their fantasy world outside of reality and bend everything to fit in it.

This is why it is so miserable to be an addict.

In case you havent noticed, for the younger generation, the "normies" are the ones wearing the knit hats, with the scrub facial hair, pathetic tattoos, drinking energy drinks and smoking cigarettes.  Repulsive physically, completely ignorant of all the fine things in life, and thinks they are clever, when everyone just wants them to go back in their room and close the door to do whatever you do in there.

My point to this, other than my own pleasure in voicing it, is that if you think they are going to build yet another game around shut-ins, so it can collapse in two weeks from all the autism, you will have to play an american game.

This game has depth to it, something an american built game wont ever have, because corporations and the people who work for them are too lazy and unimaginative.

This game by far does not appear to be perfect, I only hope they use common sense and not listen to the trolls spending their allowance to try to waste working people's free time.

Still havent decided if I am going to play this, but I do love shining the light under bridges.

Weird..considering how much effort they put in the game to be solo friendly, including to make sure there is no actual depth.

Not that it is bad or anything just odd in context of your post.

Holy shit.  Instead of asking "Will this game be enjoyable for a casual player", you wrote this.  Haven't read a post with that many pompous judgments in awhile, so grats for that.

Yeah I think it'll be fine for casuals.  Lots of intricate systems to play around with.

As long as you don't mind getting ganked. Open World pvp right?

To be fair I went out to their site and pvp starts at level 50. Is it a MUST at that level?

Well its pretty revealing by the comments here who the target audiences are for these games.

That is the whole reason they all fail.

It's my hope that at some point someone realizes how much money can be made if the games arent tailored to imbeciles wasting their childhoods.

There is nothing impressive about being immature.  The idea is to grow out of it.

I get what you're saying but Black Desert is possibly THE worst example because it caters to the "people who [do] play 16 hours a day" to quote you. The near endless progression in this game and absurd power curve that goes along with that level, gear, and skill point progression is why I'm not playing it despite enjoying many facets of the game. If you think this game is designed for the casual gamer then you are going to be in for a VERY rude awakening.

Isnt your description a bit biased here? I have seen a lot of brain-dead people that look like super models too!, hot girls and fit dudes and they are part of the same younger generation.

you cant really base that on comments here, a lot of the regulars here are VERY jaded and bias towards certain types of games especially the pvp crowd here, they are diehards and will slit your throat if you criticize open world pvp.

With that being said this game just like BnS and Archage provide a niche game for players, there will be tons of people playing at release as its a new fresh game to play but hardly anyone will stay and it will carve out its niche. Westerners as a populous do not like grindy asian games thats why they do not do well here. There will be your diehard niche crews but thats about it. All you have to do is look at what games are running what numbers in the west to see the general consensus. I myself will not even bother trying it as the second I see over the top animations and asian themed art its a turn off just due to personal preferences and the fact 99% of them are grindy and power curves suck catering to the hardcore and cash shops.

I'm blessed to live where I live and make a living doing what I do. I enjoy many things in life and have many hobbies. I'd like to think that I'm very well rounded.

I kind of look at MMORPG's as kind of like building a model ship with all that rigging and shit. It can be fun, can take skill, patience  and a lot of thought.  But it's probably something I'll never finish.

Point is: Is the activity personally enjoyable.

There will always be some who can spend a hell of a lot more time and get farther than you will ever be able to.

Pretty sure MMOs are pretty fucking profitible.  Even the "failed" ones make a lot of money.

BTW, acting like you're better than everyone else is the immature thing in this thread.  Kids do that all the time.

Anyways, why do you even play MMOs?  It must be painful to play a game with people you despise.  I picture Bill O'Reilly trying to have fun with a bunch of stoners.

hmmm, well, people in glass houses ...

Additionally, if someone is wasting their childhood doesn't it stand to reason that, according to that logic, people would be wasting their adult lives?

To me it seems like your manifesto is really just based on widely drawn stereotypes.

How I hate this stupid ideology that playing games is wasting your childhood/life/time.

    - Watching Sports is a waste of time.
    - Drawing is a waste of time.
    - Watching TV is a waste of time.

We could go on forever with this list.

Everyone is entitled to their hobbies, don't be judgmental just because you don't like something millions find enjoyable.
