    Really nice interview. =)

If they stick to their vision this game is going to be awesome.

"We believe that any player should be able to reach certain level of advancement, if they invest the time and effort. For example, life-only players (the "Herbivores") can have the same level of gear and strength as the combat-only players (the "Carnivores") do; it just takes more time."

Wish they would of given a bit more "answer" to the question regarding gear scaling issues. However, from this response and previous comments, they are at least aware of concerns and say to be doing what they can, not that it is much beyond lip service.

If cash shop items and RMT don't become a thing soon or ever, should at least keep a minority from jumping a head without putting in game time.

Doesn't stop those with the time and luck on their side, but this is typical outside of hard ceiling "balanced" progress games.

Are there any plans to add the possibility to steal goods from Carts?

There already is a theft interaction with NPCs, and we are planning to implement a similar function with wagons. Since stealing trade goods from an actual player can cause conflict, we will need to set a fine line between protecting Good players and providing fun for Evil players. If we can come up with a way to prevent abuses, and reach a compromise for Good and Evil players to be satisfied, we are positive that it can work.

    This would be great

    Yes, pretty please.

One of my important question would be.
When can we expect some kind of wardrobe and more variations in armour look.

As it is now everyone in the same class looks exactly the same at the same lvl region.

There should still be a diminishing return to this behavior because people will just park themselves near a group of mobs and just farm them endlessly.  You should only be able to farm in a particular area for a short period of time before the XP starts dropping off... you will need to farm elsewhere to maintain the highest XP gains.

Carnivores have to migrate to find their meals... their meals don't just stand there and wait to be killed.  Just as herbivores have to graze in new areas or risk depleting their food supply permanently.

XP grind by killing mobs alone without some sort of system to FORCE players to move along is always a BAD system.

    no it's not.

And I suppose, for some, it gives reason to pvp.

Are there any plans to add more races? If yes, can you hint any?

Race selection is heavily influenced by user preference, and that's why we'd like to be more cautious about creating a new one. We are, however, planning to add some new races. Realistically, it will be either from an existing in-game race, or something that we think might be fun for players.  We're thinking about adding a Shai race, for example, as a playable character, but it is still undecided which race should be developed first.

    I don't understand this, I haven't seen any races?

Bullshit, you don't make a system to force people to move along in a sandbox.  If you want to move them out of an area then you force them out by killing them.

    Well that's correct.

The races are tied to the classes, there is no place to pick your race.

I would take the Dev's answer as:

Yes, they will introduce more races. But it's not a priority.

Adventures and fierce guild wars in Black Desert are strongly established on an open-world system. Some special content might need to utilize an instance dungeon system, but we are not going to add a repetitive instanced dungeon, where the sole purpose is getting rewards.  Guild- and party-centric raids are already implemented in the game now, and we are developing more advanced kind of raid.

I like this one. I remember when people really were against instanced content, and it seems they've remembered that too. One of BDO's biggest strengths is its wide open world and lack of "instance-based" gameplay or gear treadmill. IMO of course.

I think what they are saying is using an "in game" race that has representation but one that is not already used (though who knows, they could add additional races for classes).

So they indicate the "shai" race which is a halfling race. It's in the game but it's not playable:

One thing that seems quite clear is that love it or hate it.

When they say it takes more tome - they mean a TON more time.

Grinding mobs is the fastest way to level up so (carnivores) level up 10x faster if not more

What I have found DMKano is the soft cap is raised to 55 so leveling to 55 will be faster. Post 55 will be hard cap to ?. Looks like they will make leveling easy each update to the areas but the zones for 55+ are not in NA release so 55+ is going to really tough.

Once the 56 gear is here looks like the soft cap will be 60 so experience adjustment will make 55 to 60 rather fast and 60+ will be grinding LONG hours.
