imageNo Microtransactions & No P2W

Ubisoft's Natchai Stappers has gone on record via Twitter as saying that The Division will neither have microtransactions nor become a pay-to-win title. This is in opposition to other Ubisoft games like Rainbow Six and Assassin's Creed that do have microtransactions.

@Tovarisc_ There will be no microtransactions, and definitely no P2W

However, a mere hour after making the statement above, a pretty definitive statement, Mr. Stappers, a Ubi Community Manager, came back with this:

I keep forgetting people are so hungry for info, they'll take a non-comment as gospel. Sorry guys, I should be more careful.

Whit all the respect to them, i hardly doubt it, but could happen since they alredy taken money for the game (60$ +-) plus a a seasson pass (40$ +-) guess it depends how many people buy the seasson pass or even the game.

Ubi are most likely already pissed about this tweet and we will probably never hear about this person again on the internet after saying that.

I doubt Ubi will make this always online game without Micros.

LOL well that is a nice speech and one i am sure they will remain honest about.
However how does that change an over priced game and future DLC's that will add to the over priced game?
They don't need microtransactions with this price and i expect dlc's will be around 20 bucks each, who knows maybe 25/30.

Me i 'll wait until Steam offers me the game plus a couple DLC's for 30 bucks:P

I'm with you @DirtyDozen ; -- I mean he definitively said 'NO MICROTRANSACTIONS" -- seems a pretty well thought out comment to me. :D

Did say it, but think it wasn't an official statement. Probably thought what they said was right, got told it hasn't been decided yet and thought best to correct themselves because they know how crazy a community can get with one bit of information official or not., heck people lose their minds over speculation.

Thank God I'm getting mine for free from a retailer promotion. It'd suck if you pay 60$ and then have P2W microtransactions.

Mr. Stappers, your boss would like a word with you.

    And what is a non-comment?

Games already been hacked. Ubish*t won't bother to fix it. It'll be dead or FTP in a year.

    Change micro-transaction to Mini-DLC. Map DLC's, Weapon DLC's etc...

There will be microtransactions its a Ubisoft game after all, they don't care about the gamers or developers and are only half a step behind EA. The only thing Ubisoft and EA are after is the huge $$$$ signs.

A monthly sub game will cost you at least $150 per year if you purchase 6months to 12months at a time. And that's not including the up front cost of the game itself, for example games like WoW or FFXIV.

So about $100 bucks for this game with season pass doesn't seem out of line to me.

On 1 side you are right, but on the other not really... You are forgetting 1 important thing. In subscription-based games like WoW for example there is equality among all players, while in games that have DLC/Microtransactions such thing doesn't exist. Yes if you are buying just the bare minimum of necessaties that you need you might be able to spend less than a yearly sub, but often times there is always "1 more thing" you need to buy from the microtransaction shop :P

I personally like sub-based games because everyone is equal and you know that neither you nor they have advantage over anyone else in the game. Of course there are games with microtransactions that don't affect the equality in any way like Path of Exile for example.

It's not suppose to! It's a game with a 60 dollar price tag. It should be a complete game. The fact that these things need to be stated now a days sucks.

Any buy to play game that could be pay to win, is a HELL NO.
