Later today, Defiance will be updated with the Dark Metamorphosis update, a free content expansion for all players and one that will see a new zone, a great story-based quest line, new missions, new enemies and more. We had the chance to chat a bit with Trion's Carble Cheung and John Hegner about Dark Metamorphosis and the future of Defiance.

    I am shocked this game is still going.. I bought it at release and outside of those big invasion things the game was quite boring.

    Is Trion currently out of giveaway mounts for Trove, so that you guys have to necro Defiance to keep Trion rotating in the news?

    They could at least have quickly made an "exclusive Suzietaur" mount in return for some PR.

    Took them nearly 2 years to finally add complete shrill story in the game. It took so many gambling box sale to finance this update, every month they sold new gambling box as "new content", finally it paid off./sarcasm off

    They need to get rid of the fugly characters. That was probably one of the main things that turned me off. Couldn't stand to look at my character for the long grind...

    i liked the game but i just cant play it on the ps3 so i wish they would have brought it out for the ps4

    So.. the new content is solo and PVP based? thanks but no thanks, its not what I play an MMO for.

    I feel bad for this game. I loved it during the beta and have been craving an mmoish open world type shooter for a long time. Firefall has too many bugs right now, defiance feels too bland, warframe is fun but makes me crave for an open world. My only hope is the division. But I can't help but feel like it's gonna turn into destiny.

    I'll check out this new update, but I doubt it's gonna survive againt the division once it's out.

    If they went forward with it to release it on next gen consoles then they might actually pickup some more cash to make it great again. Sadly they released it only for the Xbox 360 and PS3 of all things originally and it just seems their management has no clue about what it's doing in the console side.

    Defiance team said they are going to port the game to next gen, time and date is not given though. I think they 1st wanna see if people who already paid for older consoles are ready to pay again for next gen.

    This honestly used to be a good game but the last few big updates really messed it up. I love the fast paced action of it all.
