We’re counting down the weeks until Trove’s big Mantle of Power update by taking quick looks at each of the new features coming with the expansion when it drops. Today, it’s all about the new tier of gear known simply as Stellar. Read on for the full details and a tease of the Gem System which we’ll be exploring in the next couple of weeks as well.

This isn't a review. It's a preview of content to come. And the mount name's a gag. It could have just been "MMORPGataur", would it make a difference?
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.
My Review Manifesto
Follow me on Twitter if you dare.
id think that most of us coming here to read this allready play the game, since as he stated, this isnt a review, its a preview, and the content being previewed is only really for the late game players, for the most part.im not sure how there could possibly be any type of biase that could even go on there.but hey, thats just my 2 cents.
That's reasonable. And I think that the author is fairly objective. However, the author has been "gifted" with an ingame asset named after him. I would think it would open up all kinds of questions of objectivity. As mentioned in my op i think it would be best for perception if someone else did the articles to avoid the perception of any impartiality. Otherwise, as i said the article is good. And I think we're past the pretense that an article on a game news site cannot also serve as something that is beneficial to the game developer regardless if its a review or not. Edit: As I was thinking more about this i realized i should have just emailed Bill this privately. My apologizes @BillMurphy
Oh and I can't see why Bill can't do a review, he has had a horse named after him, not got shares in the company.
This website's "objectivity" in regards to Trion hasn't been in question for a long time anymore, as the bias got obvious times ago.
Every frequent visitor should know by now how the relationship between mmorpg.com and the studios and publishers has been working for a while now. Giveaway mounts/keys for features and "opinions". If it's not a giveaway, it's again another "interview" *cough* with S.Hartsman telling us "how great everything is and how exciting all the upcoming things will be", which in return is generating siteclicks.
They should really add the "sponsored" tag to every article about Trove or for once not let Bill, but some veteran user or author with less affection for Trion write an opinion on the game and see how long the keys keep coming in after that.
According to the general reactions to Trove on these forums the title has a very low popularity, stirs up rather little and always mixed reactions to news about it and is commonly looked at as being a budget title from a company many forum users no longer want to deal with. Yet we constantly get biased PR ...pardon, "opinions" on Trove stuffed down our throats about every few days as if it is the hottest thing everyone can't wait to read about, while burning news on yet another major Trion f'up with the playerbase rioting about it allover the intarwebs never get mentioned at all. Just like many mmo news in general only get a headline after a forum user had already opened a topic on it days ago.
It's the sort of "objectivity" that keeps this site going and while there isn't necessarily anything bad about that, to me it's not really the intend or content, but the wrapping of the package that smells fishy.
GG Trion keep up the great work
By comparison, WoW 2004-2008 was a masterpiece - a different painting but the mix of all the ingredients was just right.
I could list the things that Trove misses, but I'd be writing off topic.
Couldn't help but chuckle at his/her comment Bill, it always astounds me that people can't understand tongue in cheek humor.
As if "We named a mount after you, now your soul is ours MUHAHAHAHA" Although honestly I shouldn't be surprised by anything on the internet anymore...
So if a game company named something in a game after you, even if it was a joke, you wouldn't think differently about the game at all? I am also not surpised by anything on the internet.
