Because i have so many games, including never ending mmos, it takes way too long for me to finish games, unless they hook me from the start and keep me hooked all the way.

The last games i beat were Dragon Age Inquisition and Metro Redux (both 2033 and Last Light one after the other) in 2015. I also got to the final boss of Bloodborne but instead of killing it (i didnt want to go to NG+ yet) i started a second character.

EDIT: i want to say that after playing Metro Redux, i havent gotten so hooked on a single player story driven game. They are so good. Highly recommend them both.

There are many games I keep telling myself I need to go back and beat. The last game I saw through until the end was State of Decay. Granted I finished everything possible in that game as well as the DLC's at around 200 hours and I've got at least that much into Skyrim, yet haven't finished that.

Last game I played: League of Legends
Last game I beat (finished): Mass Effect 3

The list of games I have finished/completed is rather small compared to the list of games I have played.

Back in the early 90s or so, I beat a game called mech warrior something.  After you played through the game, you were shown a constellation and you had to pick the correct stars.  You had to use info from a printed map that came with the box.

A very fun game.  I don't really play games long enough to finish them. I play until I don't enjoy it anymore.  I find that to get to a position to win a game, I am usually not truly enjoying the game anymore, but just working to complete. The mere fact of completING just isn't enough for me.

Also, I tend to play MMOs and other open ended games that don't really have a finish.

The most recent game that I played to completion was Witcher 3.  It was a fantastic game that hooked me from start to finish.  Something the first two Witcher games didn't accomplish.

More interesting than that is how many game I walked away from without finishing them.  I was shocked at the list when I browsed my Steam and GoG libraries just now.

Just to list a couple of the dozen, I played but didn't finish:

Pillars of Eternity (Tried to copy BG, but made up their own shitty game mechanics which were annoying)
Divinity Original Sin (This was NOT the isometric RPG I was looking for)
Deus Ex:  Human Revolution (Laid on the trans-humanism a bit thick and was not "open world" at all like PC Gamer and other media outlets outright lied about.)

Equally strange were the games that I didn't like, but kept playing cause I wanted to know the ending.

Bioshock Infinite - I really really really did not like the gameplay, but wanted to see the ending.  After seeing the gnostic demiurge vomitous ending I wish I had walked away.

Spec Ops:  The Line - Garbage copycat shooter.  Plot hooked me and then disappointed me with the incredibly creepy M. Night Shama-llama-ding-dong ending.

Call of Juarez:  Gunslinger - I wanted to play a western.  Story hooked me at the beginning, but the game play was absolutely horrific.  One of the few games that was so bad I spent a good 30 minutes writing a scathing Steam review.

Hey, I don't often play games you can "beat"

But I'm always winning at EVE of course

I read a statistic that said perhaps half of those who start a game actually finish it. The report cited the Bioshock developers stating that they considered it a huge success that 50% of gamers who played their game reported finishing it.
Not sure how these stats are measured or how accurate they are but I know myself I have many games I have never finished.
Not because they are bad either. I just went back and finished Alpha Protocol after all these years.
The last game I played and beat was ShadowRun:Hong Kong
I am playing (ASTA, BDO,EQ2 in small doses) and Stardew Valley, Far Cry Primal and Balrum right now. I hope to finish them.....

    So what about you guys?

In some ways it's a silly statistic for me because I start games and then finish them wayyyyy later.

Last game I finished was Dragon's Dogma as far as the main game. Now just about to finish the expansion and will then do it all one more time.

I'll then go back to Pillars of Eternity. Continually play Skyrim.

Last game I "finished" was Fallout 4,  prior to that Divinity OS,  and right now I'm trying to bang out Grim Dawn as fast as I can before The Division launches tuesday.  Don't think I'll make it, I severely underestimated the size of Grim Dawn.

I'm right near the end on a bunch of games, but the last one I actually beat was Bioshock Infinite, I think. Sounds about right, since it was after the terrible trio of Diablo 3, Mass Effect 3, and Infinite that I started becoming averse to endings in general, but especially video game and anime series endings.

I guess I'm just afraid that a game or series I've enjoyed will be ruined by a terrible ending. Mass Effect sure was, and to this day I still can't play the first two games, knowing that nothing Shepard accomplishes in them makes a damn bit of difference.

Bioshock Infinite could have been great, and actually was decent up until about the last third. Then the writing completely shit the bed in an attempt to be 'deep and introspective', and wound up sounding like a four year old child's take on quantum physics, with said child throwing a fit because nobody takes him seriously. I honestly found it to be personally offensive as well. Burial at Sea just made it worse.

Diablo 3 just had a crap story, period. The overarching narrative was cliched as hell, but passable. The characterization was absolutely awful. Other than Cain and Covetous Shen, the NPCs were stiff, boring, unbelievable, and laughably predictable. A literature student could probably write a thesis on how bad the writing was, if they could stop themselves from vomiting during every other line of dialogue. It makes George Lucas' dialogue look positively Shakespearean by comparison. If any of the characters were real, they'd sue Blizzard for defamation of character. It's just terrible, and is one thing the haters definitely had cause to complain about.  Somebody in Blizzard's writing department really fucked the fear turkey on that one.

    Rant over. Proceed as usual.

I definitely suffer from not finishing games and its been a while since I finished one.

On the PC, its been a while! Last game that really hooked me was Cities: Skylines which i bought November-ish. You can't really "complete" it, but I got 100k residents which is the last unlock in terms of city size and I "completed" my city in terms of making it look and function how I wanted it to.

Most games, I tend to start and find out it's not really suiting my mood, so I have tons of games with 1-3 hours played.

Then I get some which seem quite good, I'll get 8-10 hours in and then start experiencing the flaws or just get annoyed with something, so they tend to get ditched.

Then there are the odd few that grab me. XCOM: Enemy Within was one, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was another, but I played through both of those in 2014.

Next "big" game on my list if Total Warhammer. Assuming it runs on my pc, I can guarantee I'll love it and get hooked, so I expect to complete it.
Currently Playing: WAR RoR - Spitt rr7X Black Orc | Scrotling rr6X Squig Herder | Scabrous rr4X Shaman

you know in my 30+ years of gaming I think I have only 'beat' one game. Most of the game I play dont have a story so there is that.

anyway..I 'beat' Thief 3 and I think that is the only one ever

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
