sorry for this rant.
But i re-activated my account. And the game is so deserted. No player for miles. And those that are online use /anon.
The game in it self is great,But getting group's are impossible even at lvl40.
Been bored mindless the whole time i have played the last week. Lukely i was still in my old guild. But tops 5 was online at the same time during the weekend.
It's a pity as this is one of the finest MMO's out. But whit no player's i totaly loose the interest in it really fast.
the towns are deserted same for all the instances arround.
Now i play in EU,how is it in US. Same thing there ? play on the Prydwen-excalibur cluster. and im currently thinking about closing my account again and going back to wow. Sure it's a mindless raid grind. whit no real content. But atlest there is grouping and social interaction between player.
wish there were more PR for this game or something to attrackt new player's.The game is boring as it is now. Hate online games where you spend all your time alone.
Anyone have any suggestions on my situasion ?

on which server are you playing on? ^^
I know of no EU server that could be called "deserted" (and I also highly doubt that a lot of people are anon on your server ^^)- except of Prydwen and both the italian and spanish one maybe.
Al others still have pretty decent player numbers...
Basically you should try either Glastonbury (english) or Salisbury (german), if you want to start a new toon- both servers are still very "young" and have more players to group with on lower levels.
Server name?
Time of day?
The game is somewhat empty on some of the smaller servers during off-hours, obviously, but other than that the servers are very crowded at their peak times. Especially Merlin, Gareth, Lancelot, Lamorak and the Euro servers. And RVR on all the servers is pretty crowded 24x7.

I play on the US Classic Server and the game does'nt lack peeps here. I don't know how the
European Servers are, but being on Gareth here its never a dull moment esp at low levels.
The biggest amount of peeps I have seen on our server at login was 3k on a good night, the
norm is usually in the 2k in the evenings and 1k in the morning hours.
i play on Prydwen server as i said in the post the "cluster prydwen-excalibur".
And i play from the morning til late at night. and all the low lvl areas is deserted. I think arround prime time the server list says 3-700 players max.I have yett to see such a high number thou. But some ingame told me that was the norm.
And i do know for a fact that lots.. specialy in the guild i am in do use / anon all the time. even see some of the few players that is online asking if any anon is online that can give them a buff or something.
I do love this game, it has everything a mmo should have. exept players in my case. have been running arround solo whit my LFG tag up and checking the LFg window ever 5 min. And i play the game to have fun online. and get to know new peep's.
It might be that i have played on the wrong server. But a few years ago the servers were full of player's. now they are deserted.
But il take your advice and try out classic ones and se if there is more fun to be had there.
and i think Lasastard know what im talking about as you mentioned Prydwen as ones of the deserted one.
and once more hehe.
Server Prydwen. in the prydwen-excalibur cluster.
time of day. from 9 in the morning til 12 at night. whit a few breaks inbtween.
Realy sorry for my english grammar. and for all the whine. il bring some cheese next time
Sorry missed that in the OP Yes, that's a TOA enabled server. Most of the "normal" servers don't have much of a low level community. Best ones I know of are Merlin and Lancelot If you're looking for a 'TOA enabled" server cluster that will have decent numbers of lower level players. Even then they won't have nearly as many as Lamorak or Gareth because of the /level command which allows vets on 'normal' servers to instantly level their toons to 20 if they have a 50. On "classic" servers vets can't do that so they are around when playing their alts as well. Makes for a much better low level game experience, imo.
Gareth, in my experience since coming back, is the best server to start out on. Once you get the feel for the game and such you can start a toon on a 'normal' server if you want at the TOA content. By then you'll really not care much about level 1-20 and blow through it quickly (you can go from level 1 to level 20 in about 8-12 hours of playtime if you put your mind to it, and that's completely solo without any outside help, mind you).
If you don't care about TOA and just really want to focus on RVR then stay with the classic servers. All TOA is is a bunch of PVE content for uber items and abilities. On Classic if all you care about is RVR you really won't miss them. If you prefer PVE then go with Merlin, Lancelot or Guinevere.

I think I know how you accomplish what you are saying, Elnator. Is it task dungeons? What can one do solo to fast level if they don't have Catacombs? I honestly don't know the trick though. I am still a newb at DAoC. My mere 2 months playtime hasn't revealed any great tricks or secrets to me, so what is the trick to fast solo leveling please?

If you do not have Catacombs then you are going to level slow. The original world and SI are outdated in terms of XP and loot. ToA is really only level 40+.
It is not just TD you are missing out on. You can go to Catacombs and do quests. It takes 10-30 min per level doing quests up to around level 15-18. At which point it will take about an 60 min.
If you are not going to be able to get Catacombs the best thing you can do is go to dungeons. You will a dungeon bonus and camp bonuses. That is about all you can do to get the best XP in those areas. Other than that it would be to get powerleveled.
Simply put, if you do not have catacombs, you have put yourself at a disadvantage in terms of equipment and leveling. Not that either one of those hurts you in RvR, it just makes it a lot longer to get there. My guess is that to get from level 1-20 in the original zones (without lucking out and finding some of the newer quests) it would take about 3-4 days in game played.

Actually level 1 to 20 the fastest is to go to the catacombs area off the capitol city of your realm. Aqueducts, Burial Grounds or Veil (depending on realm). And do kill tasks and quests there. The quests give good money, xp and the occasional item. Kill tasks give good money and xp as well as the occasional drop from a mob and, of course, the mobs themselves are good xp and have nicer drops than the 'real world'.
If you don't have catacombs then I recommend doing kill tasks in Shrouded Isles. 1-20 in SI using kill tasks and the occasional quest will take about 18 hours to 30 hours of /played time.

I forgot about kill tasks. If you can do those then you will cut your leveling time down in half. With Catacombs it is just easier to do those quests than kill tasks. The problem with kill tasks, although this might not be the case any longer, is finding the correct guards for your level. Then finding the mobs. Sometimes the only mobs you find at too high of a level and you need to either wait or suicide to get another kill task.
So kill tasks are a great option. SI tends to be easier to get the tasks and find the prey, but they exist in the original realm as well.
1. Click on guard
2. /say task
3. If the guard has one you will be given a task to kill a mob. He tells you where to search, but it doesn't matter if you kill them in that location or not. What is important is that you kill one.
The UK Cluster looks really low populated
I play only on german servers and there is still no cluster, all 5 ToA servers are stand-alones and have good numbers at primetime ( smallest is around 900-1100 ).
If you dont need ToA, go on the Classic Server Glastonbury.
And to level, SI is still a good place, not as good as Catacombs, but still nice
