The game appeals very much to a WOW player and plays very much like it as well. Plus it is free. What is wrong with that?
There's nothing wrong with it. Its an mmo just like every other. Quest, kill monsters, level up. I love how people love to call games Wow clones or knock offs when Wow is a knock off of Everquest. You do the same dang thing in every mmo. Its getting really stupid.
I played the open beta to 40 before I quit. The game is 1000% gear centric. Make a group and camp the instances. You never even need to do anything else in the game and you will level faster than anyone else, and have the best gear to dominate every event and every pvp round. The difference in damage between someone who levels by questing and has normal gear compared to the person who farms the instances is nearly 500%. The Game is fun do not get me wrong, and pretty, but the core mechanic of the game is super flawed, so ultimately a waste of time and effort.
This sponsored stuff in the features tab is a bit much.
So they have "sponsored" articles now. Bad form.
They have had sponsored articles for a long time now. They say "Sponsored" right on the article graphic and title. What's wrong with that. Use your big boy powers of choice and skip it if you don't want to read it.
well the slippery slope keeps getting more slippery. It takes away from the integrity of the site, which is already stretched thin due to so many non MMO's being covered. For me, sponsored articles actually cross the line.
That ship sailed long long ago, before Bills time. Not sure why I (occasionally) hang out here tbh habit as much as anything. The editorials seldom (if ever) give any real insight they are usually just puff pieces based on a few hours play. There are far more professional sources out there if you want any real insight.
There is a bit of a community here I guess though there does appear to be a high percentage of flames and trolls (maybe that's why I kinda enjoy them).
Anyway advatorial and sponsored content amongst editorial content that is pretty irrelevant (imho) is no big deal. When did mmorpg.com ever influence a purchasing decision?
Amazing how miserable folks can be over a video game or being entertained. I can only imagine what a stip club looks like full of some grumpy miserable haters. Some of you continue to make the worst arguments about a game, they sound more like excuses my whiny older brother made growing up.
Yes the game is very familiar just like any MMO out in the market. Also, just like any other game in the market there is always room for improvement.
Oh man comparing this game to WoW 10yrs ago, visually this game would blw it away. Whether or not it would give Blizzard any real competition no one really knows.
The cash shop is nothing more than a convenience.
All 5 classes are fun IMO, after getting them to level 10 I decided to stick with the warrior.
Visually the graphics look amazing unless you are not a fan of this art style.
I love how the dungeons are a available at such low levels. It can be difficult if you do not have decent gear or you do not enhance your stats. If you do all of the above you can solo 3 man dungeons maybe carry a 5 man group.
Instanced World Boss Events, this is a very poor attempt compared to open world boss event many other MMOs offer in the market. Boss fight can be very long if you do not have enough players you will go oom very fast.
Fun until i learned end game is just another open world pvp gankfest. Seems like alot of these Asian mmo's are resorting to this as there end game feature now. So once you hit level 40 the zones you try to quest in are going to be annoying for non pvper's. Glad i found out before i spent money to support it. The pve was really fun.
Is it true that the game turns into an open world gankfest at level 40? That the only end game is forced pvp?
Yes. At level 40ish the areas to quest in are open to both factions. So PvP is where that level ends up. If you just want to not do quests at that point you do not have to worry about it. You can continue to craft, Dungeon,Raid and do Daily quests without bothering with the PvP.
I won't like and say I'm not a little disappointed about this. I can see why give that it's a WoW style 2 faction game and reminds me of early WoW in that way.
Still, that's not what I want to do. I want to farm mobs mindlessly, do bounties, treasure hunts, and craft. I don't want to be out farming and doing those thing and have to deal with roaming rogues.
The problem with the open pvp is that the classes aren't built for self-sufficient pvp. My mage does okay, but with long cast times and cloth armour a rogue or warrior can eat me up. If they would have kept pvp to battlegrounds it would have worked better in my opinion.
I'll see how it goes for a little while longer yet, but they're not going to get money out of me at this point.
Well, I do not mind dropping a dime, makes me want to just level a ranger instead of a warrior. But I can see your point with long cast, not sure if maxing out an Orange cast speed tome would resolve the issue. I have one sitting on one of my toon ATM.

They have been doing the same thing for years, directly re-posting the marketing materials from the various MMO companies (that are also paid advertisers here).
Only thing different is they put the "sponsored" tab on it.
I haven't reached the pvp area yet myself because when i reached around level 38 i farmed the 5 men dungeons that are avaible for artifact gear just because i wanted to experience the game and not rush to 50 and 6 more just opened up at level 42.
what i have heard is that both factions have guards and they are suppose to be quite strong someone was spotted in out faction today and it must be rare because people were surprised they had got past the guards but you can apparently you can carry on questing without pvp this is something i have heard as well.
I just asked the the perosn who got first level 50 mage on our server about the pvp area and she said it was correct i hope she understood what i said and i haven't got my information wrong.
If you want a class that is good for grinding mobs get mage it has so many aoes if you like that play style and also each factions mage uses different elements Asu uses fire and lightning and Ora uses darkness and ice.

I'm doing the exact same thing. I was farming dungeons with my warrior getting levels and gear for my other toons. My archer is now farming a bit, need new weapon for my warrior. I'll even get extra Hero gear that I sell on the market or dismantle for enchants.
Though, still continuing to running quests as well and exploring.
This game is Horrible RoM was way better when it first came out What a waste of time to even DL this. Seriously this looks like a 90's game EOS and Swordsman are way better than this and that's not saying much.

Guess I'm just a bitter old cynic.
