Trading, Selling, and Profit

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to make money or add value to guilds as a crafter.  I've seen people say that there is no trading, but I read there are auction houses.  Can someone explain how the economy works.  I enjoy PvP, but crafting, gathering, and selling are my preferred activities.

Thx in advance.

I'm probably not the best to answer this but this is what I have done since day one.

Explore to get Contribution points to invest in nodes. You need the node to allow profitable trade since if you sell to a node that is not invested in there is a 30% tax which means you lose money.

Start by buying as much as you can carry from a trader and go as far as you can up the line to sell the trade items. Watch the main map for bandits and thieves (big red icon). You may lose a few runs but most times you just respawn without losing your products. (died 4 times lost nothing so far except once my horse cost some cash to get back, BTW - the horse from explorers pack is permeant but horse from the world die they are lost and you have to buy a new one)

Do the quests until you can get a horse or donkey then load them up as much as you can carry.

Rinse and repeat always upgrading as you have profits.

I stopped and did some quests and bought storage housing, lodging, processing and a residence took up cooking to make food for my 9 workers.

The workers do not do all processing so you have to gather some things like logs and rough stone.

Main crafting is done by workers that you manage.

Life skills are needed to support the processing.

You can level up as you go.

It is addicting and supports you guild giving them capability to control the nodes during war.

yes there's an auction house and you can make a lot of profit with crafting and all that if it's well thought... only kind of trading not allowed is player to player trading
