If any of the GW gamers can explain to me what skill is involved in GW, and why it's more skilled then WoW... I would greatly cancel my subscription to WoW and maybe(this won't happen and you wont get what comes after maybe,,, Im not kidding their is no prize....) give it to them for free along with my copy of GW!!!
But it's not like anyone can give me an argument anyways... I have already tried this in other topics but no one repsonds with any examples and evidence....

    try to read this

    600 skills , 6 professions , each char have 2 , can only take 8 skills to combat ...

can you make the math ? i didnt think so

go back to wow and stay there

Guild Wars's pvp requires some more skill then WoW, both in gameplay and strategy. not saying WoW doesn't, but less then GW anyway.

Ehh... theese are FACTS, GW is designed for skilled teamworked PvP. WoW is too, but it's a typical MMORPG where time spent farming for items overweights your true skills in battle.

GW is not item dependant, only THAT makes it more skill based.

GW's skills are constructed with complexity, and you must use your brain to make a good build. THe skills often has negative points and there are millions of builds that you can use.

Also there is much timing and coordination involved.

In WoW (and most mmorpgs) players almost always has the very same builds. So reading your opponents in WoW is waaaaay easier than in GW. In GW you have to be more careful when you confront your opponents because you never know what their builds are for the moment. You gotta have an hawk's eye and memorize what skills and possible counterattacks the oposite team could make.

This is also a fact of it's own since in GW you can MULTICLASS. That is the coolest thing I know in GW since I totally love how you can multiclass... all those endless possibilities *shivers* ^^

Btw your poll sucks, only makes a fool out of yourself.

I read this somewhere yesterday.  Can't find it again so I'm typing from memory.  Plus a little of my own opinion.

In GW there is a huge amount of skills, as mentioned before.  And you can only use 8 of those skills at a time, as mentioned before.  So the possible combinations of single character builds in a match are pretty crazy.  And the possible combination of characters is even bigger.

So in GW the combination of classes is probably what makes the biggest difference.  You want to have a balanced team that compliments each other.  I would not really call this skill.  It would be more similar to 5 maning in WOW.  You want a group that can tank, heal, and DPS.  Kind of the same in GW, but there are more ways of accomplishing this.

What I do believe is skill is the way you go about using the group builds, as well as what tacticts you use per map.  And if you do the ladder guild matches then you rotate through all the maps, wich means if you want to keep the lead you have to be great at all the maps (that is if the ladder matters to you, otherwise you can just play for fun on any map).  I think BG in WOW has 3 Maps, maybe 5, not sure, but I'm pretty sure it's way less than GW.

Also in GW all sides have the same builds available to them, which makes a better chance for a more even fight.  In WOW both sides are intentinaly different.  Wich in my opinion Horde side has better classes (Shaman>Pally), and better races (War stomp for Tauren, and Resist Fear for Undead>Any racial trait on alliance).

Also you don't have to wait to jump in the action (wait time for battlegrounds is dependent on server population at the time and level of character, which could be 20mins easily).  GW players are all linked together through the zones, where in WOW you can only play with the people on your server.  Which means more game time.

So as far as skill, well I just think that is all dependant.  In any PvP game there is always some degree of tactics, and usually there is only a couple top tactics that really work all the time.  So I would not say there is a lot of difference in skill as far as actually playing PvP in GW or BG(WOW).  I just think there is more room for fun in GW.

And as a final note.  If in fact both sides were equal for what you are looking for, then GW doesn't have a monthly fee.  So you can't feel cheated if you don't get play time in, or feel pressure because you are paying for it.  Plus  Factions is going to kick it up quite a bit for PvP, and it comes out next month :)

In GW you acutually have to stear your character around people... where-as in WoW you can just run through them... There are other reasons... but that alone should be enough for anyone that cares about PvP.
