The Hunger Dome is what Artcraft (ACE) calls their first phase of Crowfall gameplay testing. It’s a scaled down bare bones version of what the game will eventually be. Please remember that. In the era of “pay to test” game development expectations are hard to define. Considering the infantile stage of the game I won’t be getting too deep into details of mechanics or even classes because so much of that will change from now until launch.

"my opinion is…(feel the suspense)…" - it was too much for me, I had to run downstairs, drink a glass of water (after returning from toilet, that is) and wait for hands trembling to stop =)

We are born of the blood. Made men by the blood. Undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open. FEAR THE OLD BLOOD.

I just joined to comment. I have been watching Crowfall since their Kickstarter and have been very impressed with their professionalism, transparency, and ability to deliver. I don't agree with all their design choices, but I like enough of them to be excited.

I love the graphics, art style and overall appearance of this game TO THE DEATH!

@Remedial Hey, welcome to the site!

I joined the same way, it was some kind of ESO voting for the game of the year, someone linked it on ESO reddit I guess!? So I came just to vote, but no - "you have to register", and I thought to myself "What? Allright, let's do it quick"... =)

Crowfall is the only one of these kickstarter/independent MMOs that looks fun and interesting.

I too just love the art style.

I'd buy an action figure of their class archetypes. Seriously.

Yea they have stated that the art direction began with concepts derived from action figures. I'll try to find the article.

What is it with this game? Every single email I get has something about Crowfall in it. Is this an MMORPG sponsored game?

I have played hundreds of matches in the hunger dome. The potential is real, it is still in pre alpha and I fully expect many things to change. Combat is not perfect and has tons of room for improvement, BUT, it has a solid foundation to work from. Every time they release another acrhetype, they make the combat a touch better.

The Art style in the beginning was a turn off, It has grown on me and I absolutely love it now. When I log in to play its feels like home. I have been trying most mmo's released as of late and still have more fun playing in the hunger dome then I have had in other games. Working with a good guild and being active on a chat program will be essential if one wishes to succeed in crowfall.

combat doesnt look visceral enough, it lacks oomph and impact...

imo that a game / mmo / pvp is fun long term the combat needs to be fun

besdies mechanics i think the most important aspects are

animations (look and fluidity) and viscerality

Using chat in a MMO is like trying to mix oil and water, the two really don't coexist.  If you want to use chat, go play a FPS game.

Voice chat and MMOs don't coexist? You may want to tell that to all of the guilds across all of the MMOs who are using it.
