Many have wondered next week's very limited prototype alpha experience for IBM Japan's Sword Art Online: The Beginning was merely a technical experiment and not the true herald of a game in the making. While we still don't have the answer to that question, IBM Japan continues to make us wonder with yesterday's release of several promotional screens for the event.

In the future, VR gamers will all have bodies like the cast of the movie "300" due to all the physical effort needed to play VR games...
Yeah, riiiight...
anyway...here is another one.
expect to see VR rooms in public places such as malls that provide a better VR experience overall than what the home versions such as Oculus provide, and no I am not talking about existing ones using technology not related to the most recent changes in VR technology

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
I had one of those when i was younger...
...though they were less technical back then.

and yes the vast majority of the future of VR will be in homes but there will be public spaces as well. I am nearly positive this will happen and HTC VIVE is PERFECT for such kinds of spaces because the lasers....link

It isn't the right time for anything like that. 1970's-mid 80's was the time where arcades in NA were popular. Now everyone has computers and consoles, everyone wants it at home and not some arcade. The reason internet cafe's are popular Asia because internet isn't easy to get and its expensive. Gamers aren't frowned upon like they are in other countries either. Like I said the idea is great on paper but the public just won't do it. My local theme park has a vr unit that costs 20$ for like 15 minutes of gameplay. And you hardly see anyone using it. Also the local arcades have some hands on games yet they aren't really being used that much and makes you wonder how they are even in business.
public space? check
