One of my favorite actors that i never see as himself on the screen - Andy Serkis - is playing the Vanduul in Star Citizen !

Too bad, even by the time SQ42 releases, the Serkis mocap will look like old technology. The Gary Oldman speech is starting to look stale, like a cutscene from X-rebirth. Definitely it will look like dog meat next to 2016 games like Hellblade. It's a shame, if only they'd been competent enough to release in 2015.

See any difference? They're both mocap with slightly different technology.

    I sure do.

    I laughed so hard...

I'd agree Hellblade features a better method as far as graphical fidelity goes, and if that's what made for great games, you might have a point. Considering it's from Ninja Theory, I don't expect a very deep game nor a highly complex one as far as features go. They're typically an action game studio.

In this case though I don't think we are really focusing on the story itself or any gameplay elements but rather the mocap. Watching the hellblade mocap session was pretty interesting how they did it. They had to do a of front end work with all of the pictures of her face but the end result coming out in realtime was pretty awesome.

The mocap SC used I have no idea what the processing time would be since I'm not sure they talked about it. Would be interesting to see if Hellblades version was faster with the front end work or if SC was faster with the back end work.

CIG isn't anywhere close to finished on their characters. What you see there was the current character build at the time.

I like how the models themselves are essentially live captured and ported right into the graphics engine, someone posted about it not long ago. It does seem like a faster process.

Wow they spent added money on his actual face to be used instead of just his  voice acting. Not sure that is wise spending but whatever,at his point does it matter lol.
I like his movie acting, good actor a very eerie character.

To be fair the CIG one looks pretty good - is that guy meant to be slightly evil, that's the vibe I was getting... The 'victory' stuff sounds dark. :-)

love the Hellblade trailer and the mo cap behind the scenes vid - will have to read more about that game.

The Admiral has also personal motives to stick it to the Vanduul ... i would call him more driven than evil. He is a brilliant soldier, but will refuse some commands in the future (which leads to a continuation of the Squadron 42 storyline in Part 2 "Behind Enemy Lines").

    Have fun
