No announcement about another new game?

    That's the real shocker.

From the beginning I never understood why anyone would name something Greed Monger. Much less give someone money to make something called Greed Monger.

No, you have to wait at least a week so people can forget...

To those who are interested into what has happened with GreedMonger since after MassivelyOP announced that James had started working on it again... It's pretty much been unfolding http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/greed-monger-insider-thread-drama-inside.98177/page-31 here. As a bonus the thread unveils the newest Appleton scam as a capsuleer in EvE, AND the sole investor in James'  latest ideas as CEO of his company. Or wait...

It's just some dude posting screen shots from unity and calling it a game. Even me someone who knows nothing about making MMORPGs could do that.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

  • NitthNitth Member UncommonPosts: 3,904
I don't know which is more of a problem for this dude, honesty or incompetency.

I'm actually of the stance that buying assets for a game is fine... but if your asking other people to finance your project you should probably be up front about that.

I still don't know how people can pledge to a project that has no proper project management outlined and no prior tech work already done such as a tech demo.

Good riddance. That turd never deserved a second chance after the fiasco that happened the first time. Has any of the original donors ever received any of the promised items? I remember the T-shirt scam that James was trying to cover up. The whole thing is pretty ridicules.

This thread brings back memories. Shows the type of character people donated money to as well.

I actually waited several days before taking the site down and the Facebook page down. The Announcement was posted to our Blog Tuesday and I posted on our facebook page that I would be taking everything offline Friday which I did.

As for the T-Shirts being a scam I took someone at their word and they failed to deliver. I then requested that the T-shirts be sent to me so I could ensure they get sent out and I have yet to see them. Goes to show that you can't trust anyone to do what they say and your better off just doing it your self if you need to make sure it get's done. Lesson learned!

Just make Unity asset packs and stop trying to make games that never see the light of day.

    please and thank you

I won't be doing asset packs... But I will be finishing what I have started. Can't discuss it at this time though. I Only have a couple people who currently know what my plans are and they are both under NDA. You guys will know in time though.

This goes for any game that you ever touch. Being involved in GM and then spouting off like you did to the gaming community makes it ever hard for anyone to ever trust you. Yet here we are. Having a repeat of your original GM shut down thread. I think you can follow the trend here. The lesson clearly wasn't learned.

Why try and defend yourself? It's just going to make you look like an ass to the community that you want playing your games. Honestly, not even trying to be mean but you may want to start looking for a new line of work. You skin isn't thick enough for this. You feel a need to comment whenever someone says something you disagree with. It's almost like you and Jason Appleton were spun from the same thread.

Seriously, just stop responding. Put your head down and walk away and comes back when you have something to show. Until then you're just going to be digging yourself deeper into the hole.

    lol.

How much money did people give you again? 30k? you have (or had) a responsibility for people to get that merchandise.

    you should of

A: Traveled to where they are stored and personally picked up and delivered them.
B: Eat the cost of getting them re-printed seeing how you got $30k on blind faith. Getting that done would surprise me if that cost more than $500.

You do realize doing stuff like this will ruin your "Professional" persona and respect among your potential future customers and peers?

Kind of like the donors trusted you (along with Appleton) the first time ... and then trusted you and Lumpyman the second time... and then trusted you this third time.  Hopefully THIS time they have learned their lesson because there is one common point in all 3 instances... YOU!!

If someone has 2 hours, this video is absolutely epic.  It's their "Google Hangout" where they were going to announce their plans and instead they ended up cancelling after some "random guy" trolled them into admitting how bad this disaster was.

    Mr Lumpyman 4TW!!!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhMx1GJPAJA

It's an absolute goldmine...  if you don't have 2 hours you can at least hop to minute 50 or so... for the live demonstration.

If you REALLY don't have time, hop to the 1:03 hour mark.

Yep that video really put the "Hang" in Hangouts didn't it?

Personally GM was the first KS game I ...KSed. I forgot where I heard about GM but it lead me to find out about KS and I'm glad I found it. I'm also glad I only put in the lowest amount you could to get the whole game.
