MMORPGing with ADHD

Greetings,

Rather straightforward topic tonight. Those with ADHD, do you play a lot? I mean.. it's very, very hard to stay focused. You know.. the second you start a game, you get millions of thoughts, literary rethinking every other mmorpg out there and why you'd better invest your time in any other games, rather than the one you're currently playing. And when you quit, start another game, you get the same thought train.

It's a loop. Have you ever managed to escape it?

Personally, it is very tiring, and the constant unrest is, at times, maddening. It's like you're trapped and never find peace. This is the first time I'm opening myself in this manner for reasons simple:

Share your experience. Maybe some little advice of how you cope with ADHD will help?

Cheers,

Matthew

A quick look into Hell? It "helped" Dante to focus, and also Bach in TSW  as he says, before that even his ADD had ADD... https://youtu.be/WXdM7hGk8ro

Jokes aside, I have no idea. I heard short-termed goals could help maybe (as in "won't log out until I finish this quest / dungeon / crafting this item / etc."). To be honest all I know about it is it can be a very severe condition. But this here is a large forum, maybe some will post an in-practice advice.

Depends, more often then not I hyperfocus on one game. But while I'm playing, my actions jump all over the place. I get distracted by things in the game, I reach an area and forget why I went there and so I start doing something else only to remember my original purpose halfway through, etc. It takes me forever to meet one goal. I can't say I have very good coping skills and I'm unmedicated at the moment, but usually my friends are around and they help by reminding me to stay focused on one task.

    Thanks for replies.
reglisse - do you often feel like there's other things that you should be doing that are a better use of time?
