well to be fair it will be nice to see some more videos from developers on what these things can do rather than many of those outlandish and clearly ridiculous events from Microsoft when they show it.

oh you mean everyone from 200 feet away without a hololense will see this crisply drawn minecraft table you just created? lol

How the hell did you get that from what they've shown? They stated that they will use a camera that can see what the hololens can seen and show people on the big screen.

No one stated they could see anything away from 200 feet.
the core of what I was trying to say in my failed humorist comment was that showing the technology in the manner that they did regardless of them making it clear to everyone as you said they did is STILL not a good representation of what the real thing is like as we have already seen hints of its use in real time being a very radically different quality and experience then what was demonstrated at the larger public events leaving many people with a false impression.

mark my words, its extreemly likely many people are going to go 'wait wtf?' when they start see real use videos

I believe the Hololens tech will have some really fantastic RL applications, but I think its relevance for gaming is extremely limited.

Hololens is firmly rooted in the Real World. It augments REALITY.

When I'm playing games, I'm looking for an escape from reality. I don't want the game world imported into my livingroom, I want to be transported to a virtual livingroom in some fantasy world. I want complete immersion in the fantasy.
